FINALLY I'm moving on with this series. Here we have Twilight Sparkle and G1 Twilight.G1 doesn't get nearly as much hate as G3 does, but it still gets its fair share of disgust from people who hate anything that's not Friendship is Magic. Disrespecting history is definitely something Twilight Sparkle would not approve of.

Have you ever thought about this:
My Little Pony is still My Little Pony. Be it Gen 4 or 1, Whatever. It's the same Franchise with another look.
So technically the Bronies are hating on their own fandom. They're disrespecting their own Fandom.Β
It's funny how stupid they are in that way. Literally hating the Β thing they seem to love so much.

Fun fact. Twilight Sparkle was originally going be called Moondancer, the name of two ponies: a white unicorn with red and purple hair from G1 and a light blue pony with blonde hair from G3. I guess that eventually became the G4 Pony by the same name.

I'm afraid that Twilight Sparkle was always going to be called "Twilight" (not "Twilight Sparkle", just "Twilight"), because I have seen who the original Mane Six were going to be (all direct remakes of G1 ponies) and I'm afraid Moondancer is not among them.
Twilight Sparkle was going to have G1 Moondancer's cutie mark/symbol though at some point, so maybe you're thinking of that?Β I would assume that Lauren Faust toyed with the idea of combining the two for whatever reason, like how G4 Rarity "replaced" Sparkler, but rather than incorporate G3 Rarity, she chose to combine the designs of Sparkler and Glory (another G1 pony, who was not part of the "Concept Six", but clearly one that Lauren loved enough to be inspired by, and she has admitted that she loved G1 Moondancer too).

Kind of. I'm not sure it's canon that Twilight Velvet (Twilight's mom) is THE Twilight from G1, but she's definitely based on her.

1. There was nothing in the context of the scene to say it was insulting G3 (unless you take the term "crazier" at face value, but it was probably said because the animation changed).

G1 Twilight's not Twilight's mother. Twilight's mother is more of a grayish color, and her name's Twilight Velvet.

I don't think her design would be able to be used though; Moondancer's G4 design isn't exactly like her G1 counterpart.
(I agree, instead of relic, I would have had Twilight say "How could you DISRESPECT such an important pony of Equestrian history!")
