Description
Well, after all the Tokka in the past couple episodes of Avatar, I got the itch to draw some. So I doodled something cute and fluffy. And then I got a wild hair and decided to add a background.

So yeah, the new season of Avatar has converted me to a Tokka shipper, particularly if Suki isn't going to be around any more (and given that she was fighting Azula, the girl who goes psycho over a game of volleyball, I'd say the odds are against her). And I just felt like drawing a little bit of fluff.

I never realized just how pale Toph is until I was looking for reference pictures. I just kinda made a mental note that she and Aang had more Caucasian skintones and Katara and Sokka were darker like Inuits. But she's actually 3-4 shades lighter than even Aang...how does she manage that when they're always out in the sun? Earthbending sunscreen? Titanium dioxide is a metal mineral, I guess...

And I love her hair. Those bangs are incredibly useful when you want to hide dificult facial perspectives. I knew that other eye would be a beast to get the perspective right on (since it's at that incredibly awkward 7/8 profile, where the eye starts looking really squished), so I just tossed her hair in front of it.

Nitpicks: Sokka's foot that's tucked up is WAY too big...and too dark. It should be slightly in shadow, but not that much. And the perspective makes it look totally huge (so much for the "awesome perspective" of my last picture, eh?). He should also have a tunic with pants underneith instead of pants tied off with darker cloth (the screenshots I used as reference were kinda blurry/dark). His expression probably would have looked better if his eyes were closed, but I only realized that after I inked the picture... -_-;

And I kinda forgot Toph's cape thing, but we can just say it's behind her and you can't see it. Her eyes are also a little too bright/lime green, but I don't really have a "seafoam" pencil color (used to have a seafoam crayon, though).

But all in all, I'm proud of myself. Mostly because I actually drew a background for once. XD
