I went for a hike with my mom at a nearby nature preserve today. I thought it'd be fun to take my camera, and I think now that it was worth it! I got a lot of cool shots today. c:

This is a macro of some amazing moss. When I took the picture, I didn't know that the little pinecone-thing was there, but I found it when I got home. I really love the contrasting textures, since the pine needle on the left is smooth and angular, and the pinecone is round and bumpy!

I love the color, too. The funny thing is that this was about the size of my fingernail.

I like the textured quality to it.

One could imagine it as hills and in the far off distance a lake!

That's what I love so much about this moss! It really was cool looking at it eye-level because it could by home to mini-people.

it's like a gradient scale of focus on [grass?] I love the dark but rich green colors, this is absolutely gorgeous!

It's hard to think that this is the size of your fingernail.

For me, it feels as if the atmosphere and mood are both a big muggy with the tone and the colours...and, I suppose, the way it doesn't feel quite in focus either, not that it's necessarily a bad or good thing here.

I like the angle and the composition. I think it's really interesting how even though the background is blurry, there is still so much depth there, in a way.

Hmm, muggy in what way? Kind of hot and sticky like a jungle, or a different kind of muggy? I think I might get what you mean. Maybe.

Thank you. The original colors were slightly less rich. I had to up the saturation because some of it was lost in my camera.

Very impressive! It looks so much like a huge, dramatic landscape to me... yet it's so small! It's a little world inhabited by tiny people the size of fingernails
