if i export from daz i used the 3ds max preset.. but i rarely use daz so im not really the right person to ask anything about daz

with poser it kinda depends on how you want the mesh to show up inside 3ds max.. most easy way to get good results is to use the obj export and then keep everything at the default setting except for the the "use exact internal names"option which has to be turned on.. once in 3d max import the obj file and turn the scaling on the imported object up 250 to 300.. this is because the scaling of the workspace inside poser is a lot smaller then within 3ds max
