lol me too. have you tried carrying around a small mirror? when I need to do it, I take it upstairs to the big mirror in the bathroom, but if I'm traveling it's inconvienent.

Hmm... that's a really interesting idea! The only question is how to flip something traditional. Also, my brain will occasionally just do a mental flip back and tell me things are fine. Aurg, neurology.

Ahh... okay. I guess I could flip over the paper and hold it up to the light. I'm also wondering if this could correct for eye bias (I've got an interned eye) or if I'd need to get someone else.
If you have a Mac, Photo Booth flips automatically.
That part about eye bias was random musing, you don't have to answer it.

It's a useful trick, but kind of inconvenient if you work traditionally. :-/ it takes FOR-EVAH to scan and flip, scan and flip. Personally, I don't think I could bring myself to bother unless it was like, a commission.
Maybe I should get a small mirror, though, That would be worlds more handy.

Wow, I never thought to do this! I didn't even know there was such a thing as hand bias, or that drawing could have it. Thanks!

I've done this too before, it's really helped with my eyes, as well as my side portraits. I always do it to see if something looks off in my drawing.

My friend is doing something like this with something she's working on in art class. She's using a mirror and it seems to be really helping her. This is really cool

Very cool trick! I used to do that when I really wanted a picture to look good - I would photocopy the drawing and mirror it in the machine. I also found that when working from references especially, it helped to turn the reference and your drawing upside down. That way, you're just seeing the shapes and lines instead of, say, a face. It forces your brain to see it differently, and copying a circle and lines is a whole lot easier than copying a face! Just some more tips ^_^

Oh yeah that's a great trick too! Once in a while I still have to do that with certain things like hands sometimes I find are easier to draw when I turn it a certain way.
