Hello. I was super excited to find your plushie tutorial and pattern because my first attempt at a plushie didn't turn out quite like I had hoped. Now my question is, how would you go about doing a "fade" or mohawk style? I am trying to create this k-pop idol's hair style in the attached image.

I'd probably do the head all flat then add layers of hair cut up in pieces on top until I got that textured look. Looks challenging!

This is great! <3 Although the little triangular line-up pieces still confuse me a bit... Do you sew over them or something? I'll have to take a closer look when watching the video again!

gyazo.com/1c7396e528e5a6cbec8b… I think they're alignment thingies? xD Anyways, I just wondered if they get a seam or whatnot o:

They are just for lining up, you sew as if they aren't there

first time for me ever ever ever making a plushie. The sewing on the decapitated head part made me want to decapitate my own head lol, and so far my plushie looks kinda off. well I guess it's alright for my very first try.

Thank you for the tutorial and the plushie patterns! The tutorial was very helpful while I was sewing a plushie of my own. I'm making Captain Jack Harkness-plushie. I will take a photo of him, once I'm done.

Your head tutorials were so easy to follow! Thanks a bunch. Do you have a tutorial for the body?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SarahForde In reply to GrindhouseBarbie [2013-02-11 01:03:54 +0000 UTC]

I am glad it was helpful! I didn't do a both tutorial since the pieces just go together 1 to 1. ^__^ But if you have questions, feel free to ask!

GrindhouseBarbie In reply to SarahForde [2013-02-11 01:09:58 +0000 UTC]

I tend to over complicate patterns I'm not familiar with >.< Did you leave openings at the end of the arms to give it a full body look or sew them all the way around and then attach them to the body kind of like a rag doll? Did that make sense lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SarahForde In reply to GrindhouseBarbie [2013-02-11 01:21:32 +0000 UTC]

I sew the body all the way around except the neck, and then attach the arms along the seam. So they wiggle back and forth; it's not stuffed between. ^__^

oh and also how to you make the skirt and leptored for a sailor soldier ??????? sorry i am stupid for asking all of these qestions

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SarahForde In reply to Maw1227 [2013-01-21 00:49:52 +0000 UTC]

If you trace the body and give it more space on the sides you can make the bodysuit shape. A skirt I do with a long strip and then I sew the pleats in ^__^

It's CPE felt from New Image (I think that's what it's called). I was buying it from ACMoore.

Time to make 5 plushies within the next 3 weeks~! (I'm making them for friends as christmas presents) Btw, how long did it take you to make the whole plushie? Wouldn't take like a whole day? It seems like a long time...
