Description My Halloween dress (full costume, even!) for 2011! (my son took the photo)

The bodice is made in four layers. The top layer is brocade (*cough* once a curtain), followed by a protective liner, a canvas, and inner lining is cotton twill. (*cough* once a curtain) The boning is 3/8" heavy duty cable ties. ^_^

The skirt is in two pieces; full skirt is the lace with red over layer. Top skirt is the bustled partial skirt. (*cough* once a curtain...)

I made this dress modeled after the "Pale Blue Fairytale" dress, only using red and gold with a few other differences. Her dress turned out so pretty, so it was a natural choice for these fabrics. Totally stoked that this one is mine!!!

This sort of looks like a cross between a 12th century bliaut and a 16th century Cranach gown.

^_^ He did do an excellent job, I just wish I'd broken out the actual camera and not used my phone.

I'm actually just wearing my newest wig in this one. I figured it would go better with a red dress than red hair. And I found that awesome chair at Goodwill. Love that store! The pose was one out of like 50 other pictures where I'm making faces while talking. lol It was fun, though. I just wish the quality were better. :/

Thank you so much!!! I was really excited to hear what you thought of it, since it's kind of like a sister dress to yours. I've always been a sucker for red, so I knew I would love it, myself.

I made my sleeves the open kind and the skirt is just a bit different, but that's about it. I haven't had time to make inner sleeves for it (besides that lace in its place), but I will eventually. I hope. lol

Oh, it's so good in these colors. And the way you did the sleeves- *MELT*- you know my 'sleeve thing' runs deep...

It looks good w/out the inner sleeves- I don't think you'd need 'em on this dress! The entire thing looks gorgeous on you, and I love the detail pics you included.
