I think it's a really nice piece of artwork. I can tell a lot of time and effort went into it. The coloring and shading are really smooth, and I love Jessie and James' posing.
James' hair is a bit stiff, but

Yeah, I've had a few people mention James' hair, glad it doesn't seem to detract from the drawing though.
Yeah, I dunno if it's just because I'm more familiar with them...but I didn't really have to debate which of their Pokemon to use.

Yeah, I wasn't really sure how to tackle James' hair...I'm just overall not very good at drawing flowing hair yet. I go for er "Line variation" *Not sure of the technical terms for that is* when drawing so it's closer to manga then anime...
I know what you mean about the faces =/ I redrew them about a million times and they still turned out a little weird eh? x'D
