I do support adoption (heck, my two dogs are adopted!) but I kinda disagree with this slogan.
Pure bred dogs are there for a reason. Yes, some are bred only for looks, but many other breeds such as shepherds or tracking dogs are bred for their unique 'talents'. Both adoption and buying is good. As long as the animal gets a good home it really doesn't matter.

Woot! I adopted four cute little cats last year so my ex-GF would stop bugging me about buying her a snake. Just as with humans there are to many animal without homes.

So many animals are homeless.... The situation is out of control.
But we, humans, have to protect them at all costs.

I have had bad things happen with store-bought friends... Siggy we adopted, Pepper, too. The birds we bought. They are mean.. Of course, two of them were an accident... Salt we adopted. THE REST WE BOUGHT.. Any suggestions for a rattery???

I recommend to adopt.. Because if the animals are for sale most likely people will buy them.
But rather animals are free people are not rushing to adopt...
