Yes, they most certainly are! Awww, bless your heart. β₯ Mules/burrows/donkeys/etc... are just so precious! There's one at the barn where I board my horse and he's an absolute angel.

Awww You really shouldn't be afraid of horses. Horses can sense when you're scared and some may not want to be around you if you fear it. They feel your fear and they get scared too. They're gentle creatures by nature, and easily scared. If one approaches you, then that usually means they feel comfortable around you or being near you, which is definitely a good sign. If a horse doesn't trust you, it will lay it's ears flat back and bare it's teeth, it may snort, paw the ground, back away from you or turn it's rear end at you and not want you to pay it any mind and vice versa. All you have to do is put your hand out and let the horse sniff your hand and if it stays, you can start by rubbing it's neck or cheek and most horses like their foreheads rubbed as well. Most horses love attention. That's really all you have to do. Lightning likes to rub on you if he likes you or trusts you. He'll rub his head or forehead up against you up and down, which is kind of his way of hugging you. It's how he shows his affection for somebody he likes. He does this to me daily.
Awww, well I'm glad my picture could bring up a fond memory in your life for you. You're welcome!

Well...maybe scared was a poor choice of words. I think "hesitant" would be more appropriate, come to think of it.
Yeah, that's true. My best friend told me the same thing, actually. That horses can sense other people's fear, especially if there are people on their back.
Good advice. I'll have to remember it next time a horse comes near me again. Thanks again!

Ahh yeah. I see what you mean about being hesitant. You never really know.
Oh yes they can and if you scare them enough, they'll want you off their back and a horse WILL get you off their back. That's why you have to be incredibly careful and know what you're doing or be with a riding instructor or having a buddy riding with you while riding.
But if a horse shows no indication of hurting you, I wouldn't worry. If they don't want you to touch them, they'll move their heads away from you.

I never had a horse or was riding! (I only sat on one and it was lead in a circle) But I think it would be interesting.
All animals never judges people. They are better than humans.

Riding a horse is pretty amazing and owning one is even better! If you ever had the chance to even take riding lessons at a nearby stable, I implore you to do it! Horses are amazing creatures. Yes, I agree. They are.

Yes, they most definitely are! My boy is so calm, patient and understanding. He's actually the first horse I've ever had that I've had a real connection with. We're both rather attached to each other.

Awww, that's so nice! We do too. After we ride and I'm brushing him down, we chat and when I stall him and give him his food, I talk to him. Sometimes I'll sit in his stall and he'll come over to me and nuzzle me or I sit under one of the trees outside in the pasture and he'll approach me and stay near me while grazing and he'll lift his head and look at me if I start talking. He's very attentive and sweet.

Oh, wow! That's very neat. Have fun!
I got my horse from my aunt about 3 years ago, but like you, I've known him ever since she bought him. I board him at a place that's a bed & breakfast that owns horses and does trail rides, and we ride on the trails there a lot. I actually just got back from a bareback ride today.

Oh indeed I will! They're gonna be opening up the reservoir this summer and there's a big swimming area too where you can go riding and take your horses and swim with them on a hot, summer day. Lightning and I plan on that this summer! I think it'll be great fun! Now that sounds like fun! The closest bed and breakfast place is in Marion and that's about an hour drive. @_@ I hope you had fun! I'm actually gonna take him for a bareback ride today around the indoor arena since it's storming. Just so he can burn off energy and get his exercise. I have a couple of clips I took of him running around the indoor arena at the barn. He's such a squirt. Here, check these out and please ignore my voice in the first one.. I know it sounds awful x_x:
