A horse is truly your best friend. You can tell them anything and nobody will never know. They listen to you, they comfort you when you're sad, they put you at ease when you're unsettled, they nuzzle you when you're lonely, they share happiness with you. A horse is a true companion, one you can love unconditionally and they'll return your love. My horse is my best friend. I can tell him all my secrets and he never judges me. I can tell him all my feelings and he stands quietly and listens. I can hug him as tight as I possibly can and he doesn't even flinch. That is all.The horse in the drawing is my Arabian horse, registered name Royals Eagle, goes by the nickname Lightning. The girl in the drawing is me.

It walked (well, not trotted or galloped) over to me and I was close enough that I could have touched it but I felt a little scared. I couldn't remember how to pet a horse so I just looked at it with admiration.
This picture kind of reminds me of that moment. Thanks for bringing it back

Well...maybe scared was a poor choice of words. I think "hesitant" would be more appropriate, come to think of it.
Yeah, that's true. My best friend told me the same thing, actually. That horses can sense other people's fear, especially if there are people on their back.

Ahh yeah. I see what you mean about being hesitant. You never really know.
Oh yes they can and if you scare them enough, they'll want you off their back and a horse WILL get you off their back. That's why you have to be incredibly careful and know what you're doing or be with a riding instructor or having a buddy riding with you while riding.
But if a horse shows no indication of hurting you, I wouldn't worry. If they don't want you to touch them, they'll move their heads away from you.

But I feel the same way about my birds. When I was younger and I'd have a fight with a friend or something, I'd hold and cuddle with one of my doves and I'd feel better

Riding a horse is pretty amazing and owning one is even better! If you ever had the chance to even take riding lessons at a nearby stable, I implore you to do it! Horses are amazing creatures. Yes, I agree. They are.

Yes, they most definitely are! My boy is so calm, patient and understanding. He's actually the first horse I've ever had that I've had a real connection with. We're both rather attached to each other.

Awww, that's so nice! We do too. After we ride and I'm brushing him down, we chat and when I stall him and give him his food, I talk to him. Sometimes I'll sit in his stall and he'll come over to me and nuzzle me or I sit under one of the trees outside in the pasture and he'll approach me and stay near me while grazing and he'll lift his head and look at me if I start talking. He's very attentive and sweet.

Well, he's an Arabian and Arabians get attached... VERY fast. I've only owned him for about a month, but known him for a lot longer. He was a friend of mine's horse and she gave him to me.

I got my horse from my aunt about 3 years ago, but like you, I've known him ever since she bought him. I board him at a place that's a bed & breakfast that owns horses and does trail rides,and we ride on the trails there a lot. I actually just got back from a bareback ride today.

Oh indeed I will! They're gonna be opening up the reservoir this summer and there's a big swimming area too where you can go riding and take your horses and swim with them on a hot, summer day. Lightning and I plan on that this summer! I think it'll be great fun! Now that sounds like fun! The closest bed and breakfast place is in Marion and that's about an hour drive. @_@ I hope you had fun! I'm actually gonna take him for a bareback ride today around the indoor arena since it's storming. Just so he can burn off energy and get his exercise. I have a couple of clips I took of him running around the indoor arena at the barn. He's such a squirt. Here, check these out and please ignore my voice in the first one.. I know it sounds awful x_x:
