Description This took longer than I expected, and I attribute that mostly to the texturing. I just couldn't make her sides look right for some reason... they looked empty... So I put another seam on her overalls and that sort of did the trick.

Roll Caskett is a lovable 16-17 year old girl who likes flowers, penguins, jewelry, and getting covered head to toe in motor oil and grease.

For the past year she has been building rockets in an attempt to save her adopted brother and possible love interest Megaman from the moon... Why is he on the moon you ask? How does he survive there? Well quite frankly the moon is actually a space station belonging to the ancestors of the modern human(ish) race. (Technically their proper name is Beta, not Human, but they probably don't know that.)

Classifiable as a true genius, she can take nearly any old piece of crap and turn it into an amazing fighting weapon or excavation tool!

I remember that one time I gave her that old motor and... but I digress. Roll is also a skilled pilot, and has a bit of a grudge with Tron Bonne, though it's probably not as big as Tron's grudge with her.

Who's next in line for a character asset in my little project...?
Could it be Tron? Sera? Yuna?...wait wait! It must be! Straight off the cover of Dig magazine's (misprinted*cough*) sexiest man alive issue... BARREL CASKETT!!

Ok no, I lie, it's probably gonna be Sera or Yuna.

Also don't ask about the belt Roll should be wearing, I couldn't figure out how to attach it and it wouldn't fit in the already rather large texture group I had. It'll be something for another day.

She only looks that way from certain angles, due to the low number of polygons I allotted to her face. From dead on she looks fine, but I'll go back and tweak it some more anyway.

Adrian has already had those models for a long time, and we're only going to use them for model building reference and testing stuff. We also already have a Volnutt model of our own, which our Lead 3D Modeler is making animations for as I speak, lol.

There's already a model made in that same exact style, in case you didn't know... I used it a while back for a more ambitious and less organized attempt at my project. The Volnutt model from Tatsunoko vs Capcom is the direct predecessor to the style used in MML3 proper.(RIP)

Well, set 2-3 years after the original MML, 1-2 years after MML2, that would make her 16.

In 1 she was 14, in 2 she was noted as 14 still, but that's an error since it's 1 year later, so she's actually 15. Here, one year later, she must be 16.

Yes and no. I help out by giving my input and ideas on the forum, but my main development is focused on my own project. Priorities. That's all it comes down to really.

I like how you did the new Roll design, did you use the Aero models as a base? If you want to take a look at the Barret and Aero Models out of curiosity I have them as .DAE files as well as their Textures, I downloaded them before it got cancelled.

Nope, I didn't use Aero as a base, I did use Roll's concept art from the various games though. Interesting note, her body got longer and her legs got shorter for 3.

I tried giving her her original proportions, but somehow with the new outfit it looked strange, so I went with the more realistic ones from her MML3 concept art.

maybe I will... no guarantees though. Tron isn't unlikeable... but she's not one of my favorites-- However, I did just get an idea I need to write down about her.

Mind you, while I don't like Tron as much as others, I will be fair with her in my plot.

I understand. She's one of my favorites and I try to main with her in MvC3. My only problem with it is that she doesn't get much love.

Tsundere are hard to love. My biggest problem with her is her hair... I like her more than I used to. Guess that's that whole 'growing up' thing.

Couldn't the belt be painted over the texture? You don't have to include the pouch.

Not the way I made the texture. I made it mirrored, which may not mean much to you yet, and it's difficult to explain when you don't have a modeling reference point to start from, but you'll probably understand if/when you start your 3D training. I'll probably make a second model just for the belt and have it be an attachable thing to this model. I actually did that with the hat, so she can take it off, but I forgot to get a snapshot of that *facepalm*

The reason I didn't do the belt already is I ran out of space on the textures...and I'm not sure what it looks like from all angles.

Well, I have a pic that shows part of the back, but the biggest problem is that... thing on the side... what is it? It has a massive screw in the dead center and it's not very big... is it really a pouch? and oil canteen maybe...?

If you can draw that thing up, it'll help. ( I suck at designing machinery looking things, and that looks... pretty techy)
