Description I was going to save this for an actual species reference sheet, but I kind of want to post them because I just won't get to the species reference sheet any time soon.  They will appear again with the full sheet in time, though.  Arkerebos have kind of turned into a cool down creature when I need a break from everything else, but I never do anything sensible with them.  They won't be another full time project (like so many other things seem to turn into D: ), but they will still periodically appear.

Anyways... there had been a few inquirings about Arkes and their breeds, and them in general. Arkerebos are a roughly dog sized animal covered in a sort of fur-like pseudo feather.  While there are a lot of mishmashes and all that, these are the general expectations of the 7 specific breeds I had in mind when I created them.
Arkes can come in any color that can be found in fur, feathers, or scales.  They have sexual dimorphism, males will always (sometimes accepting the bald breed) have a beard while the females will not.
In my headworld, Arkes have an intelligence similar to that of Baboons, with a disposition similar to a mixture of a raccoon, cat, ferret, and fox.  They are highly curious and social creatures that originated from a jungle-type environment, with the ability to alternate between living in trees and on the ground.  High energy, non aggressive omnivores.

Arkerebos are an OPEN SPECIES.  If you do decide to make one, please give species credits to me or link me/original arkerebos art in the description.  If you would like to purchase a Custom Arke, they are $15 across the board.  There will also be periodic sales of Arkes on Sksaba's Creature Market.
-You can do what you want with your Arkerebos, as long as it is not Commercial (Don't sell them for money please).
-Feel free to turn your arke into anthropomorphic forms, arke styled characters, change their level of intelligence, make them magical, able to talk, what ever.
-Yes, you can breed them or make hybrids and give/trade them to people (Again, just don't sell them, and please include credits)
-Go ahead and use them in stories, comics, etc.

Feel free to ask questions.
And if you decide to make one, leave a comment with a link, I'd love to see it.

You can apply features you like from any of them into one individual. Like a mix breed

I'd call it acceptable ^^
Crested short coat would be slick and fancy.

Yes, and I agree. X3 Cool. Is there anything else on these fellas, or is the coat types all?

Yeah coat types is pretty much it.  That and the beard for males, no beard for females.  Colors are pretty much entirely free range.

I never realized they have two thumbs on their hands before.

Yup! One on either side. There will be a section just for their hands on the reference page once I get working on it. A little bit like elongated raccoon hands.

Short-coated/bald, Silkie, and Crested... OH HELL YEAH. Love these varieties, though they're all awesome! Love the sketch style here too, beautiful linework, poses and anatomy. <3

Baldies are probably my personal favorites.  One day I'll finish the description page!

I've admired this species from afar, and it's awesome to see all the coat styles!
I'd love to make my own some time c:
Would it be ok to mix the fur styles?

Absolutely.  These are just what you might call 'pure breeds'.  But you can mix them to your hearts content.
