It's such a nice design ~ And it's just so intense thinking of telling apart pupils, iris and sclera by looking right into his eyes. He came out so well~

Hmmm. You say the flame gives off little light and no heat, but I think the flame should be gently warm because heat is transferred by both visible and infrared light. Unless, of course, the flame would be invisible to an infrared camera. Then it would give off no heat other than what is transferred by visible light~
And what happens to him out in sunlight?

Well the flame isn't actually a flame at all, it's his soul; it just happens to resemble and move like fire. Wick is something between living and dead, closer to dead with his soul barely attached to him. He was literally cursed to live a life of detachment and darkness like this for the crimes of murder and treason that he committed when he was alive.Β
With the sunlight thing it's mostly due to his predicament of being in such a fragile state, Β stemming from how his species (idk I've been calling them dusk fauns) are strictly nocturnal. There aren't any serious side effects from them being in sunlight, it's just that their bodies and specifically their eyes are meant for night so all the light is bothersome. He, however, would burst into flames. All part of the curse.
I know this seems like something I should include on the ref or in the artist comment but nowadays I tend to have the ref be just a physical guide and most things about the character come later when I wanna rp them djskhfksd

And yeah, that's a pretty standard reason 'undead' creatures stay out of sunlight. The whole fire thing.
Hmmm, an idea just came to me... A kind of undead that bursts into flames in sunlight but is unharmed by the sun or flames? Yes... I like this idea. *begin creature concept*
And I totally understand not wanting to spew about secrets or backstories of RP characters. It's less fun that way.
