Description: The pampas tuyango is a descendent of the red-legged seriema that has taken the role of an apex pack-hunting predator on the Great Pampas. This bird is named after the mythical bird creature (Tuyango) which is from Argentinian folklore. These birds have taken the niche held by animals such as Phorusthacos and Deinonychus. Also, the isolation of the island allows these birds to get massive and become the top predator of the Great Pampas.
The pampas tuyango is light-brown in color with dark-brown feathers and yellow scales on the beak and legs. The sharp claws of the tuyango are used to cut at the muscles and wound its prey, making it easier to kill. These claws also look a lot like the claws of some species of dromaeosaurs. Its beak is used for both killing prey, usually striking them in the head or biting them near the neck, and ripping fresh. The eyesight of this bird is great and allows them to see prey from far away.
These birds have an interesting way of hunting since they are one of the only pack-hunting predators of the South American continent. Usually, these birds spill up, two being in front of the prey and the rest of them being behind the prey. The tuyangos that are in the back will rush the prey animals to the other tuyangos. Once the prey reached the other tuyangos, the animals will be killed by the ambushing tuyangos. This strategy works most of the time, only failing when the prey is smaller or extremely large.
