Hi there! I’m here on behalf of #Traditional-Artists to make sure you get all the feedback this piece gained at our Critique Night.
I hope it is useful and will help you for your future work!

"This is a skilled likeness - I know because at thumbnail size I knew exactly who it was - and I'm not even a Jackass fan or anything! Great work. So much to say about this one that's good - the only technical glitch I can find right away is the hairline and shape of the skull. I think the hairline could be higher, and it would be if the shape of the forehead followed the rounded shape of the head a bit more. My favorite thing about this one is the background and sunglasses, so many people draw portraits but without telling a story or anything new about the subject. In this work we see all kinds of stuff going on in the reflection, there are people, activity, and a suggested urban shoreline setting. Wonderful, even though they are just shapes - it's enough to imply that this is an exciting, popular guy who is active in the sun. I think the best celebrity portraits work even when you don't necessarily know the celebrity, and this is one example of that. Fantastic observation and interpretation of the borderline between background and neck (you could have made a hard, dark line here dividing them and you didn't, congrats) and I love what you did with his jacket collar, lots of good shape work here and I get the feeling the photo had to be "interpreted". The teeth are good but I would have edited the sides of the teeth to make them read less "vampire" - sometimes photos can play tricks like this in the lighting, and that would have been a fair correction to make. Otherwise though this is one of the strongest celebrity portraits I have seen for the reasons above. Bravo!”

“This is quite a tricky drawing to critique. The actual drawing is very good and depending on whether you are going for realism or not, is what makes it difficult. If you are not, then i think it's fantastic and well rendered with a unique sense of style and presence. If you are going for realism, hopefully there are a few pointers for you from this critique. My first observation is that your proportions are really good and the likeness is great. The perspective in the glasses is pretty good too. Where improvement could be made is the technique in rendering realistic textures and details (if this is what you are aiming for). The hair is too linear and sketchy, building up tones and highlights and using a much sharper pencil would help you massively here. Your skin is pretty good on terms of shaded areas, but settle too much within a mid-tone range, really push your darks and light to create drama, this will give your work an edge to take it onto the next step. My final observation is that the clothing needs to be differentiation from the neck and at the moment they are merging. Some shading and highlighting along the material edge would fix this pretty easily. Sometimes flipping your drawing and reference upside down help you see what is actually there instead of what you think is there. Overall though, I think this excellent and has the potential to be great!”

“I like this piece and I feel like the artist is trying to go for realism here with that in mind I must tell you it takes practice and learning that photos are great references however they're just that references and should be used to help guide you but not to dictate how your artwork turns out... This piece has action and movement there’s life in the characters face even though you can't see his eyes. Keep up the good work and you'll go far. ”
