Description CLASS: ARTHROPOID

Fusion between a human and caterpillar. The writhing, fleshy "horns" of the Caterpox are lined with fragile bristles containing a necrotic venom, inflicting organic tissues with a rapid spreading cellular breakdown or "crawling rot." The monster can shed its largest horns at will, which continue squirming for several days and violently flail when disturbed. It spins a tough silken casing in which to sleep, and will weave its bristles into the lining to discourage intrusion. A happy Caterpox emits what sounds like pained whimpering.

----

This last caterpillar is based on the "hag" caterpillar or "monkey slug," [link] one of my personal favorites. The face is inspired by the art of Hideshi Hino.

The face really does look like Hino's work, too!

You now have no excuse to deny us a human-tortoise beetle larve that carries its own poop on its back.

This is the most compelling image you've posted in a while. It's great in the "indescribable horror" department. You really have to reach to come up with any real organism it could be based on, and that's a plus in my eyes. If I were to give any suggestion, it would be to give it a more abstract face. But really, this is exxcellent.

I know you compare it to Hideshi Hino, but the face reminds me more of the Magnificent Maggot.

I love it's shaggy, shy look!

I'm not sure if it's intentional, but the two big "horns" on its head, coupled with all the little ones, make it look sort of like an ox.

Really, Ito? This looks more like Hideshi Hino....

I'd have guessed it was a throwback to the Magnificent Maggot.
