PERSONALITY

[Courageous] Petrelsmoke's fears were thrown out the window even as a little kit, and his experience has only amplified this fact a thousandfold. He'll do anything to protect his clan, especially from the likes of Shadowclan, after what they've done to him. The tom's sense of justice is sharp as a claw now.

[Quick-Thinking] An instinctual thing that nobody really knows how he got, Petrelsmoke's quick ideas are part of the reason he's still alive. His tactical skills are excellent for a warrior his age, though he excels at one-on-one combat more than anything. Petrelsmoke can also get rather clever when talking to a cat he likes, and will at least try to sound smooth. Try. Honestly, it usually works.

[Adventurous] A prime example of an adventurous spirit never dying, this tom's dreams are filled with those beyond the camp's boundaries, beyond the skyclan border, and even fly past the clan's territories itself. Petrelsmoke always listened to stories of the territory his parents left, ever since he was a small kitten, and honestly wouldn't mind going back there, just to see if the 'legends' were true all along.

[Sassy] A self defense mechanism of sorts, Petrelsmoke has a mouth on him, oh Starclan, does he. He'll talk back to most other cats his age or younger with a voice that ooses sarcasm, and at times, annoyance. The poor tom doesn't realize he does, most of the time, and is prone to hurt feelings all over the place with this dumb habit of his.

[Unforgiving] A trait that mainly has a spot with every Shadowclan cat ever to be birthed, no matter what the age, Petrelsmoke refuses to forgive the clan of darkness for what it's done. As such, he has to hold himself back from physically ripping any patrol he sees to shreds. Similarly, he's grown cold and angry at his father as well, and this is slowly leaking to Thunderclan cats as well.

[Reckless] His self-deprivation tendencies haven't helped his rambunctious foolishness he grew with inherently, not one bit. In battles, or honestly, in most situations, he usually chooses the dangerous way. Sure, it might get things done, but he'll risk his life for petty things at times, especially without someone else to stop him. It's a wonder he's lived for more than a moon after his warrior ceremony.

[Lonely] A crippling side effect to his family's structure, it's very easy for Petrelsmoke to get lonely. He feels as if he's the odd one out in terms of cats of his clan, an insecurity that quietly cripples him from the inside. Petrelsmoke wouldn't dare talk about this to anyone....right? It's not their problem, and he should suffer in silence, at least, that's what he believes.

HISTORY
[Prologue]

Kestrelfeather's life had taken a downturn prior to meeting Marbleheart, coming across her on the border of the two clan's territories. His brother had scorned him, blaming him for the death of his mate, though it was the scale plague that took her life, not him. The foolish tom had also fallen prey to the dark forest tom, Bearscar, his desire to be strong driving him to come to the large mentor for training. But, somehow, all of his problems seemed to melt away as he conversed across his border, to a cat who actually would listen to what he had to say. They slowly began to meet, the she-cat teaching him how to hunt for robin eggs, the tom sharing his own hunting tricks with her right back. Love began to blossom rather fast, twists and turns coming from all angles, but the two stuck together, especially after the fire that had scorched Thunderclan. Upon all the clans having to move into Skyclan's territory, Marbleheart soon shared that she was pregnant, and now the question remains. How will they be able to do this, in different clans, during a journey?

[Kit]

Petrelkit was a rather lively kit, always going on adventures and being the first to suggest play-fighting. He quickly became rather close with his sister, Ruinkit, always leading the explorations, and usually getting into trouble together. The other sisters of his, Kindlekit and Mochakit, were rather protective of him, and while he didn't mind at first, he slowly grew aggravated. They seemed to baby him to a massive extent, and never really treated him like anything else other than a baby, except he wasn't the only baby, literally all of his siblings were babies. Petrelkit quickly gained a rebellious streak, and became sharper-tongued as time went on.

The apprentice ceremony went as expected, Petrelpaw and his siblings all receiving worthy mentors. The young tom was taken offguard, getting Curlcall, the prophet of Skyclan, as a mentor. The two grew close quite easily, Curlcall slowly morphing into the father figure that he lacked. As such, Petrelpaw slowly grew a bit more weary of his father. Kestrelfeather was never around, after all. When he'd met him as a kit, he'd been fine with him, not as hateful as Kindlepaw, but not as excited as Ruinpaw, but now? A slow, growing animosity was forming in the young tom, though he was already beginning to drift from his family, so it wasn't like they would notice. He focused on serving his clan, ignoring the fact that, since the family had gotten mentors, they never talked, focusing on other things, that is, except for Ruinpaw. The two still were quite close, much more than the distant Mochapaw and the frustrating Kindlepaw. They seemed content with things, however, for the most part.

Then, leafbare hit.

Marbleheart and Mochapaw, all at once, grew very, very sick. Peachbelly tried her hardest to bring the duo back from the brink, but there was no hope for mother and daughter. Petrelpaw, Kindlepaw, and Ruinpaw were horrified, and the trio elected Petrelpaw to break the news to their father about his mate. He soon found Kestrelfeather on a border patrol, and upon telling him what had happened, he....ran. He ran away, with a strange look on his face. No comfort for his broken son, who just wanted a father's soothing words, no insistence to even see his deceased mate and kit, he just ran away. Petrelpaw's bitterness and depression grew at that, the former destined to outpreform the latter. Ruinpaw, Kindlepaw, and Petrelpaw stopped talking to one another, each coping in their own ways, on their own. Petrelpaw confided in his mentor and Galefrost, Ruinpaw immersed herself in her training, and Kindlepaw....well, she did whatever she did. Petrelpaw's patience for the sister who had babied him wore thin long ago.

Shadowclan soon busted into the camp, towards the end of the tom's training, dropping some terrifying, devastating news on him. According to this cat....Nettleblood, was it..? Curlcall and Galefrost, his dear mentor and friend, had killed some old, mangy Shadowclan cat. Petrelpaw refused to believe it, and upon Kindlepaw's poor communication, lashed out verbally at her, only making the rift between those siblings grow larger. Everything took a turn for the dreadful, however, when a Shadowclan patrol attacked them, and some devil of a cat, Spicepaw, got to Petrelpaw first. The two fought a bloody battle, but Spicepaw's small size and agility overwhelmed Petrelpaw, who soon found his right eye missing and fangs deep into his neck, bleeding heavily all the while. Before he blacked out, all he could see was Ruinpaw, jumping to his defense.

A dark haze greeted Petrelpaw as he woke, and he realized that there were several other cats wherever he was. He was back in the Skyclan medicine cat den, half-blind, and changed mentally from his life-threatening experience, but all worry for his own well-being went out the window when he looked to the nest next to him. There was Ruinpaw, bloody and broken, looking as if she was in pain, and not able to wake up. He questioned Peachbelly on his sister's condition, and she truthfully stated that it wasn't good. Before much more talking could happen, Galefrost, who'd found out about Petrelpaw's conciousness, made him a warrior, along with another apprentice, Hawkpaw. Petrelsmoke and Hawkstripe did indeed keep their silent vigil, and it was the worst night of Petrelsmoke's life, because in the middle of it, Peachbelly allowed him to break it.

Ruinpaw was dead, the wounds inflicted by Spicepaw were far too grave.

Petrelsmoke is still trying to cope with his best friend and sister's death, and, as far as he's concerned, he's all alone in the world now. An intense hatred for Shadowclan has been birthed now, and it's a wound that will take a saint to heal.

The bird was preparing to take off, but only managed a single beat of it's wings as Luckyleap's fangs met it's neck, a lengthy leap being achieved to close the distance. The partridge's life swiftly ended, the Skyclan warrior holding his head high, proud of such a skillfully-done catch.
