The storm at dusk
He is unassuming from afar, languid in his arrivals - until he draws close, bearing a silver-tongued façade that promises excitement and change, and an energy burning in his eyes that doesn't quite match his careful elegance. He often arrives unannounced and uninvited, but the plentiful praise to those he lends his company, the overbearing sort of comfortableness with his allies, the strange possessiveness to those who try to steal his interests.... is often enough to smooth over or distract from his disregards.

When he is not tending to his affairs, one can find a quietly restless wolf, so brooding in his thoughts that he will tune out another's approach in favor of his own company. Raised by pious parents, shaped in the name of godhood, and old enough to have experienced the entirety of Malaysia's rise, he's greedy for power and change. He wishes for more than the taste of magic on the air. He wants it running thick through his veins and filling the hollow corners of his bones. He craves the godhood he was promised, and the storm cannot be confined.

One cannot convince Strymir otherwise, cannot change the path paved for him, cannot stop him from digging his claws in this prophecy and reaping the rewards that spill from the wounds.

So he grows restless in his waiting. Years, he has been waiting. Finally, with man's blood spilled again, Strymir is stirred from his corner of the sky. His passion renewed, he is vigorous and wanting. A chaotic soul at his core with selfish desires and deceptive tendencies, he will stir the pot and cause a little disarray in his favor - a brooding storm that strikes when it benefits him most.

HISTORYStrymir's parents spoke often of Khepera, Raat, and Tume. That no wolves had ever reached such greatness as they had, garnered as much power, or seared their name into history so well. His family craved such significance. They worshipped, sacrificed, and bled in the name of the Three. When they finally bore a child, they adorned him with these beliefs before his eyes had even opened. He devoured their piety, bathed in the tales of gods and power and magic. Slicked his fur with it, silvered his tongue, brightened his eyes until he harbored an energy so few often harnessed. His expectations had been set high since he was a child and were only honed as he grew older.

It was understandable, then, why he took such interest in Malaysia's rise to power. She breathed life into his parent's beliefs and awakened the interest of those like him, luring them from the shadows they hid in under Osirus's rule. He followed her early in her uprising, albeit quietly and distantly - hesitant of her abilities - but grew steadily more loyal as she gathered larger crowds.

Then she gave them the taste of man, and he could no longer deny her aptitude.

After the massacre, Strymir rested beside the sacrificed, hoping to listen to their final words. And he felt it his bones, whether or not anything was actually whispered.... You will be a god once more.
