Description Thylacosmilus, the saber-toothed marsupial. Not to be confused with the saber-toothed cat, this little buddy was more related to kangaroos, koalas and opossums.
Its size could vary from a medium dog, to a large cat. Before the Great American Biotic Interchange, when North and South America joined, predators such as cats, dogs and ursids entered to the south, marsupials like this shared with the Phorusrhacos , large flightless birds, the predator niche of the megafauna that lived in the southern continent.

I saw this creature in a documentary or article. The skull is really fascinating, not to mention all marsupials!

Wow! Your prehistoric animals look even better in paint!
I love Thylacosmilus and you've certainly done it justice here
However, once again - it's Phorusrhacos, not Forrorhacus lol!
And you should really use photoshop or something to get rid of those annoying paint wrinkles

It's probably getting annoying now isn't it lol. I can't help myself when it comes to the spellings of extinct animals

These are some of my favorites, did a drawing of one a while back ^^ Their face structure is so different from the other cats, and I really like my marsupials.

interesante, hay que romper con la vision felina de este animal...creo que tendrias que ver mejor la forma del craneo y sobre todo las vainas...te felicito, buen trabajo...

Hadn't realized there was a saber-tooth among the marsupials. Very nice. Love the whiskers.

It reminds me a little to Korge Blanco's paintings.

you certainly know a lot about prehistoric animals, I read it with much interest. the picture is nice, although i find it a bit unhappy that you can see where the paper got wrinkled from the paint. maybe you could touch that up in order to make the display of the head more clean and neat?

yeah, that thingwith the paper drives me mad, but I still do not manage well with photoshop. Maybe I'll fix it in the future.
