Description Drawn for a friend who is recovering from surgery. It's one of the bravest girls from Avatar, the last airbender. Suki. Who is "a warrior, but a girl too".

The ink drawings are Sokka's interpretation of the scene.

I always hoped Kyoshi got the ideas for her costume colors from a butterfly.

That would be a very strangely colored butterfly, which makes it all the more beautiful.

I'm not sure about Kyoshi in the Avatarverse, but I think that her garb was based off of the battle armor worn by Kaikeyi from the Ramayana. It may just be coincidence, but they do dress in a similarly.

Heh. I figured her costume shape and colors where probably inspired by a historical group rather then something poetic, like a butterfly. I just didn't know which. Thank you so much for the info! Still, legends can start even if the source is very mundane (like saying a king is the son of a god). Some butterflies have really weird colors. And since the avatarverse mutates animals from very different parts of our globe... I say it's possible.
