Thanks!
What does each ship tell you by its looks and what impressions do they give?

The Nilan ship looks very utilitarian, like a dump truck or a piece of construction equipment. It's made to do a job, and how it looks is a reflection of it's purpose, not any kind of 'design statement'. Simple solid shapes, elegant in it's stubby cylindrical way. Also a nice nod to the original Enterprise pre-production design with the outer ring and warp nacelles. The colors and markings are clearly meant to indicate patches and panels and the 'decoration' is minimal, and worn. The entire thing exudes a sense of 'well used simple tool'.
The T'Karite ship screams "don't fck with me". It's designers sacrificed utility for an overwhelming presence, choosing sharp curving shapes and gleaming seamless panels and intense unnatural colors (UV/deep purple lights are painful for most species to look at, due to retinal damaged caused just by looking at them). The lack of exterior details makes the ship feel organic and smooth, while the scattered spots of light and sharp curves evoke swift predators, things half-unseen moving through the darkness all around you. Nobody looks at the T'Karite ship and thinks "I want to pet it"... instead they think "I hope it doesn't bite me".
Also, while both ships are moderately phallic in appearance, the Nilan ship looks safe while the T'Karite ship looks like something meant to cause grievous wounds. Still, the Nilan ship is also sturdy and hard-working, while the T'Karite ship is sleekly elegant in it's own viciously penetrative way.

That's really incredible artwork and I love reading about the first contact between the two species!

I follow colourbrand and told him what I'll tell you. The Tkarite ship has an classic 1950s space opera look to it, and the Nilan ship makes me think of old-fashioned rocket ships. I truly like them both!

Also the Tkarites are the 'People of the Blade' so I wanted their ship to be sharp.
Swift, elegant, even beautiful but dangerous.

I remember an article I read years ago about "starship design." How to create visually-appealing ships. One test is this: If you can hold a little picture or model of a design, squint at it and still be able to identify it, you like have a memorable image. I'd say the Tkarite ship passes the test.

INCREDIBLE ARTWORK!!!
As always Colourbrand does incredible work; I love seeing the first contact between the Nlian Ship and the Tkarite Ship. After reading Amethyst Skies II: Ch 1 (Enter Freely) it would be interesting to see Tkarite ship Tareesia. On a side note I have always wondered what-if Nlians had joined the Norayis Alliance and left the Federation after what happened to Koel See’a and Zan Lairo.

In case you’re wondering, Tkarite ships are a lot larger by the 23rd century.
Their ships range from 220-300 m.
As the ‘People of the Blade,’ Tkarites prefer to rely on cunning, stealth and speed. Their ships, while not
as big as Starfleet’s, are very fast and very deadly. A popular Tkarite saying is: “A knife is as deadly as a sword’
Nlian ships remained small over the centuries. They came from a harsh, desert world and so knew to use
their resources sparingly. Their ships range from 23-130 meters. The largest ‘dreadnaughts’ they ever
built were 150 m and only three were made.
In 2165 both Nlia and Tkara encountered the newly formed United Federation of Planets. The encounter
was peaceful, but through the meeting, Nlia became aware of hostile species, such as the Romulans
and Klingons and the need to protect their world.
In 2173 they put together the Nlian Defense Fleet, a tiny space born military.
It was comprised of:
Three ‘Dreadnaughts,’ (150 m)
Nine smaller Defense ships (130 m)
Fifty fighters. (Think X-Wings)
Because they hadn’t had experience in true warfare, the Nlians asked for Tkarite and Andorian instructors
to help train the first members. For fifty years the Defense Fleet served as protector of the Nlian System
and the tiny outpost built in the Norayis System
As for the Norayis Alliance and Koel Sea. The Violation took place in 2186. Both Nlia and Tkara had only
had contact with the Federation for about 20 years and neither were members.
The Tkarites didn't start putting together their Alliance until 2200. They invited the Nlians and that would
have made sense because they had had good relations and regular trade for over a hundred years.
The Nlians considered it at length. They knew that in a dangerous universe it was in their best interests
to have powerful allies. But they ultimately decided against joining the Alliance. There were a lot of reasons
that I haven't worked through yet, but one reason was that with the cunning Tkarites, the predatory
Iskan and the emotionless, ruthlessly pragmatic Ryarin, the Nlians were the gentlest species in the sector.
In addition the Federation encompassed not just one sector but two quadrants. The Nlians were intrigued
with the opportunity to become part of such a vast community based on friendship and cooperation.
Of having ties not just with one but hundreds of sectors
The Nlians joined the Federation and became members in 2210. Starbase Alpha was built in the Norayis System
not long after. The Defense Fleet was merged with Starfleet and ever since then Nlia has been protected
by the Federation.
Like to hear your thoughts!

First I would like to say I am very sorry for the delay in replying; things have been hectic today.
I find it funny that we consider Tkarite ships in 23rd century that range from 220-300 meters in Star Trek Kelvin timeline small. I only say this because in the original timeline the Constitution-class was 289 meters in length with a crew complement of 205 (2250s) 430 (2260s). When it was refitted it was 305 meters in length with a crew complement of 432 (2270s), later 500 (2290s).
I know there is allot of debate concerning the size of the new Enterprise but I was reading somewhere that the Constitution-class of the alternate reality is significantly larger than the prime timeline's version, and is both longer and "taller" than a prime universe Galaxy-class vessel. In-game references state that thanks to rapid development of military technology in the alternate reality, its weapons and other systems are comparable to those used by prime universe starships in the early 25th-century, despite being developed over a century "earlier".
I am very impressed with the information concerning the Nlian Defense Fleet they do have well armed defense fleet. My only hope is to see maybe the members of the Norayis Alliance (Ryarin,Tkarites and the Iskan).
Overall you did a excellent job; with your world building and the back ground information.
I look forward to seeing more.

Oh it's bigger all right
Here are ship measurements in the original timeline
www.ex-astris-scientia.org/sch…
Maquis Raider 60 m
Defiant 120 m
Oberth 150 m
Enterprise NX 225 m
Enterprise AOS 289 m
Enterprise refit 305 m
Voyager 344 m
Galaxy class 643 m
Sovereign class 685 m
And here they are in the Abrams
www.ex-astris-scientia.org/sch…
Franklin 137 m
Mayflower 467 m
Armstrong 503 m
Kelvin 624 m
Newton 624 m
Enterprise 725 m
Vengeance 1575
The Silvenyo (55m) was about the size of a Maquis raider
The Korisa (120 m) was about the size of the Defiant
Today larger 'modern' Tkarite ships are the size of the AOS Enterprise.
The largest ships the Nlians made are about the size of an Oberth and the Franklin.
As for the Nlians' Fleet, they protected Nlia for 37 years. Each planet had a 'Dreadnaught' assigned it
(Nlia, Icar, Droshen and Zeuna). The other ships patrolled the entire system and also ran patrols
of the Norayis and Ziyafa Systems (the Nlians had built tiny research stations there)
They were only needed once. In 2191 some of the Zeuna outposts were attacked by pirates.
The tiny fleet was able to repel them.
After Nlia joined the Federation in 2210 their fleet was merged with Starfleet. Starbase Alpha was built
in the Norayis sector and a larger research station built in Ziyafa. Having a starbase nearby repels
pirates and the Starbase is home base to the USS Vigilant (Mayflower) which regularly runs patrols.
The Norayis Alliance is pretty formidable too. Tkarites are NOT the sort of people to fool around with.
Tkarites forbid slavery in their territory. In 2178 they intercepted an Orion ship in their space. It was
carrying a large shipment of slaves and had been trying to cut down on travel time by traveling through
Tkarite space.
The Tkarites freed all the slaves and made arrangements to have them returned to their homeworlds.
Those who didn't have homes were given sanctuary on friendly planets. As for the Orions, the Tkarites
programmed the ship to return to Orion space carrying the skinned bodies of the slavers and a recorded
message that anyone caught trafficking or transporting slaves through the territory of the Freehold
would get the same treatment.
