The hardest part about Alanna is trying to make her androgynous. It's too easy to make her look like a girl...I got the idea for the tunic from the manga Claymore and all their fancy sword symbols haha. I quite like this version of page outfit...it's kinda "anime" ish, no?

In terms of it being blue:
During the reformation of the King's Own by Knight Commander Lord Raoul of Goldenlake, the Own adopted the current standard colors of blue-and-silver. The uniform tunics of the Pages in Training were changed to crimson during the time of Lady Keladry of Mendelan's training.
Haven't yet decided how Lightening should be, so just a sketch for now. Feel free to post suggestions/references!

Honestly? I just have to say that I love this for the sheer fact that those books were like... what I grew up reading when I was a kid! Alanna was my favourite character EVER.
I also love the outfit you've used, and her face looks fantastic.
