Description   The Sentinels thankfully had to face few Daishis during the Clan War, as they usually fought Clan Jade Falcon, who had few of them.  Capturing one seemed a pipedream, but one that came true in 3056, when the regiment captured two after the First Krynn Campaign.  Per their contract with House Kurita, one was turned over to the Combine, but they were allowed to keep the other.  Given the Sentinels’ chronic lack of Clantech, the configurations were changed slightly in the Alpha and Bravo: the antimissile system was deleted in the Alpha in favor of two ER-Medium Lasers and an ER-Small, and the AC/2s deleted for a single huge Ultra AC/20 in the Bravo, similar to Kerensky’s “Widowmaker” variant.  This single Daishi has managed to survive many campaigns and remains with the regiment.  A second, badly damaged Daishi became the basis for the TWSP-1A Adjucator design used by Lieutenant Commander Tessya Blackthorn.

(Back in the real world...)

I got into Battletech just as the "Clan Invasion" story arc began in 1990, so my 'Mechs were usually fighting Clan 'Mechs, unless I was playing OPFOR.  Daishi minis were expensive and came in several pieces, and I had enough trouble keeping my Mad Cats together.  When the Battletech 2nd Edition boxed set came out, however, included was a pretty well-detailed plastic Daishi!  I ended up with two of them when a friend gave me one as a Christmas gift, but this one was my first.  They weren't as nice as the ralidium Daishis, but they were cheap.

This Daishi is painted in my "Command" scheme of dark blue over dark gray; the blue chevron on the leg is a recognition feature, based on those used by the Israeli Defense Forces' Merkavas.
