Description Time to start the New Year off right with some BattleMechs.

For those of you familiar with my Battletech stories (the Snowbird Saga), this is Sheila Arla-Vlata's Command Lance. It consists of (left to right):

Wasp LAM (Archibald Harrier)
Shruiken (Sheila Arla-Vlata)
Battlemaster (Max Canis-Vlata)
Chameleon (Frederick Matria)

The Wasp LAM is a Ral Partha lead mini, while the Chameleon is a ralidium casting. The Battlemaster comes from the Citytech boxed set and is plastic. The Shruiken, which is my own design, is a modified Ral Partha original Wolfhound cast--I clipped the shoulder plastrons to make it look more beefy (the Shruiken's 75 tons to the Wolfhound's 35), added a pair of medium lasers to the right arm (actually 1/350 twin 20mm guns with the barrels clipped off), and switched out the original large laser arm with that of a JagerMech, which is supposed to represent the Shruiken's main armament of twin PPCs. Both the Shruiken and the Chameleon carry kill marks.

All except the Battlemaster are painted with Model Master; the Battlemaster was done with Citadel paints.

Not a bad lookin' bunch. Sometimes I can't help but wonder if they'll survive the WOB Jihad.

So the Shruiken has 2 PPCs and 4 med lasers. How does Sheila manage the heat?

Double heat sinks. The ER-PPCs generate 30 if fired at the same time, but with 16 doubles, she can fire them continually, run, and build up no heat. Usually, when things get close, she switches to the medium lasers.

There were a few TRO 3050 'Mechs (like the Wolfhound) that started the Clan War with double heat sinks already in place, so it's not that much of a stretch.

Wait a minute...
For some reason I thought Shruiken was 60 tons. I don't know where I got that number. Maybe I mixed it with something else
Do you have a specs?

Not on me at the moment, but here's the bare bones of the 'Mech. It was 60 tons to start off with, but remember Nicia had it rebuilt. It's now 75 tons, with a 4/6/4 movement (GM 300XL engine), 14.5 tons of armor, and an armament of two ER-PPCs, four medium lasers, the "Shruiken Pod," a Guardian ECM suite and a Beagle Probe, plus 16 double heat sinks.

That tonnage may be off, since I'm going with the "current" incarnation of the Shruiken when I actually play Battletech--that version has a C3 Master Computer as well.
