Description George S. Patton Jr. doesn't need much of an introduction.

Both Dad and I have been big fans of Patton for a long time; I think I've collected and read every biography of the man. He's a controversial character, but his insights on warfare should be required reading. As a Christmas present one year, Dad built a resin-cast figure of Patton for me.

This is the way Patton would've appeared at the height of his career--the Battle of the Bulge, where 3rd Army pivoted 90 degrees to slam into the southern flank of the German Ardennes offensive and relieved the siege of Bastogne. The bomber jacket he's shown wearing here was a gift from Jimmy Doolittle, and of course Patton wears his signature ivory-handled pistols and brightly-shined helmet. Naturally, I photographed the statue in the classic George C. Scott pose.

"Wars may be fought by weapons, but they are won by men. It is the spirit of the man who fights and the man who leads that win victories." --George S. Patton Jr.

Most awesome - and a really fantastic display of this great figure. One of the best movie introductions ever (and filmed at the end of the shoot!)

I remember reading somewhere that George Patton's voice was nothing like George C. Scott's voice in the movie, that it was a higher pitch and not as gravely.

Nice! "No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country, he won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country!" The right leader at the right place and time in history is a rare thing.
