Description
Most if not all superheroes have a villain that is basically a darker version of themselves. Spider-Man has Venom, Flash has Reverse Flash, etc. Catalyst is the dark sided version of Atomic Girl, a representation of what would happen if Atomic Girl's abilities fell into the wrong hands. Catalyst also possess the ability of transmutation, but of a slightly different nature. To keep it short, he can shift the chemical composition of his body to create and secrete various chemical agents, while being immune to the effects of any substance he makes. For example, he can create acids, gases and other agents, as long as he knows their chemical makeup. To add to his dangerous arsenal, he carries a variety of tools and weapons hidden within his coat, such as bombs with various chemical agents, such as acid bombs or gas bombs and syringes filled with deadly poisons.
One thing his powers can't create is solid elements, such as iron or plastic, something that Atomic Girl is fully capable of, as well as anything Catalyst can produce. However, the key difference between Catalyst and Atomic Girl, is their knowledge and experience. While Atomic Girl's power has a broader range that could allow her to potentially do anything, she still has a lot to learn and despite being a smart kid in school, her knowledge in atomic structures is limited for now. Catalyst on the other hand, is a genius when it comes to chemical formulas and is able to use his powers to a far better extent than Atomic Girl.
