So... yeah? I ended up doing the thing where you light a match, extinguish it and then jab it into the little blood-sucking bastard's abdomen so it pulls out.And then I stomped it. Don't fuck with my kittens, dammit.

Best way to deal with ticks is twist them off, the head tends to come out too. Then eviserate the bastard.

Ticks must be a northern thing. Though I have heard of some of the hog hounds getting them in the swampy woods. Freaky little bugs.

I've found like, 5 on my dog this season. He already has Lyme Disease unfortunately, but we don't want him to get anything else. x_X; Removing those little fuckers with tweezers is annoying as hell, so we're going to the pet store to get one of those tick removers.
(Another technique is to cover them in liquid soap, wait a few seconds, then just brush them off, but unfortunately it doesn't work on dogs so well ._.)
I always burn them when they're out.... ugh.

Just pull it out. It hurts the cat either way, just one is faster. Same when I get them after hiking. Only uncoordinated people can't pull out a tick head and all in one go anyway.

I really impressed my rural relatives by, throughout the course of a conversation, pulling all of the ticks off of one of their hound dog puppies and stomping the shit out of them (ticks, not puppies). Apparently city chicks usually don't do things like that.
