Season 1 Heroes

Grahf
Age: unknown
Hyperion: Kjata of the Four Horns
Element/God: Fire/Locke, Lightning/Edgar, Earth/Terra, Ice/Celes
Weapon: Fists (melee)
Originally From: Xenogears

Grahf is a wanderer who makes his first appearance late in Episode 02 of Season 1. He appellates himself the "Seeker of Souls" and suddenly appears during the battle at Wintaki to aid Lenneth and the others. He is ordinarily calm and polite, but his appearance and slightly distorted voice give him a much darker, threatening aura. He succeeds in warding off the insanely powerful T-elos temporarily and retreats with the party in the Ragnarok . (If you are redirected to freehostia.com, right click and post the americanime.net link directly into the address bar.)

He explains that he wanders the world, seeking others like him who have "Awakened." Lenneth and the others quickly learn that what he means by this is the Awakening of the Hyperion that sleeps within the Hume soul. Unlike Squall , Fei , and Lenneth , however, Grahf seems to be completely in control of his powers. He explains further that he seeks out these other Awakened people in order to help them learn to control their powers. He does just that by remaining with the party, sensing that Lenneth and Fei had recently Awakened themselves.

His past is shrouded in mystery, but he is also very old. He never removes his mask, but he claims he needs his bodysuit to live. In Episode 03 of Season 1 Grahf reveals that he originated from the now nonexistent village of Elru and that he shares some important past connection with Id . He also seeks the Wrath of Parousia ; somehow they also share some connection to his past.

The Scar
The battle between KOS-MOS and T-elos a year ago tore open a hole in the Time-Space Continuum. This tear is still in the sky above the formerly cursed continent of Gedrir. Plans to migrate survivors from Mechapolis and Fraughfield to Gedrir have been painfully halted because this tear is still hovering menacingly over the land. (The land on Gedrir is also still barren of life and unable to be used for agriculture.) This tear in the fabric of reality has been dubbed “The Scar” by Phrellic scholars.

Because it is common knowledge that exposure to the TSC can be fatal, the continent is still considered off-limits to the general public. In the meantime, the Temples and Phrellia have been working together to study the Scar and determine whether or not its being wide open presents a threat to the people of Minerva—or the Planet itself—and whether that threat is immediate or long-term.

The only person known to still live on Gedrir with no issue is Grahf, who has returned to his old village of Elru. Elru is directly below the Scar, but given that Grahf is far from a normal Hume, he can’t reasonably be used as a test subject.

Season 2 Profile
Grahf returned to his home village of Elru on the continent of Gedrir, content to spend the rest of his days in solitude there. However, he did not completely isolate himself from the world. Periodically he would visit the others over the course of the past year. In particular, he would go to see his pupil Yuffie in Phrellia, and she would come to see him at his home, as well. Though he has still not quite forgiven Bugenhagen for the past, he is willing to let things blow over in time. Bugen has infinite time, after all, and as he once told Grahf, he will spend the rest of eternity regretting his sins. Grahf decided that is good enough for now.

Yuffie comes to Elru not only to see Grahf but also to study the Scar along with other Phrellic Mages. Now pursuing her Archmageship, she is planning to write her thesis on its effects on Minerva. She goes to research, but as usual she slacks off and hangs around Grahf while Serge does her work for her. Grahf is satisfied with this simple life.

At the start of the season, Grahf is waiting for Yuffie to arrive to visit him again. However, Yuffie is not the one who appears before him on the barren soils of Elru. Instead, it’s a strange newcomer with an unbelievable resemblance to someone he once knew….

Grahf does not rejoin the main party in Season 2. He does support them however, and sometimes he is a guest party member.

In FFC Grahf still fights with his fists. Grahf is a Hybrid, which in this world is extremely rare. That means he has multiple innate Elements. His Elements are Fire, Lightning, Earth and Ice (Locke, Edgar, Terra, and Celes); however, his birth date is indeterminate. In his Cross Form he grows noticeably larger, but thanks to his strange suit it is impossible to discern any other changes.

Grahf is originally from the RPG Xenogears, and he is voiced by my cousin. Let me tell you…it was hard designing a new, completely original outfit for Grahf while still making him look like Grahf. I hope I did well!

Ah you mean legit in a good way right? Thanks for the vote of confidence. Admittedly, it is a crossover with My Little Pony. Yes I am a brony, but I consider myself a casual fan. It's just I have seen other MLP/Final Fantasy crossovers but they were usually rewrites of some of the games. My idea is going to be an original plot with references to older Final Fantasy games.

Heck. I even plan on Garland being one of the primary villains. I'm going to have him physically and personality wise, resemble his Dissidia incarnation but have some shades of his FF 9 incarnation.

It's kind of hard to imagine Grahf as a hero of any kind, especially with that intimidating armor and cloak but I guess he just wouldn't be Grahf if he WASN'T intimidating. You're work as a whole is amazing, I'm so glad I found this and as soon as I have some free time I'll check this little show out if you still have it up. Although you'd never know or see it, Grahf smiles upon you .

Indeed. Grahf is more of an anti-hero, aiding the party since his purposes just happen to align with their own.... Like in Xenogears, his motives are based on a singular obsession from his past. Appropriately, Lenneth doesn't trust him right off the bat. Hopefully when I'm done typing up the synopses for Season 1, that will be clearer. Of course, his dynamic with a certain party member changes over the course of the first season so that he becomes a "proper" hero, much like his heroic sacrifice in Xenogears. (Poor Lacan....) He doesn't sacrifice himself this time around though, thank goodness.

Whew, thanks! Hard to tell if he's smiling with that creepy (yet awesome) mask!
