Season 2 Heroes

Jun Kisaragi
Age: 32
Hyperion: Leviathan, Monarch of the Sea
Element/God: Water/Celes
Weapon: Katana (Muramasa)
Originally From: Valkyrie Profile

Jun’s father Wazuki (Chrono Cross) was a member of the Henhue military who died in battle. He fathered two children, Jun and Yuffie , before he died.

…That’s right. Jun is actually Yuffie’s brother. Jun knows this; Yuffie doesn’t.

While Yuffie’s mother was pregnant with her, Jun decided he was going to enlist because he couldn’t stand the constant terror his people lived in. His mother was distraught over her husband’s death and became a shell of her former self. She disowned Jun for joining the military; thus, Yuffie never knew she had a brother. In fact, Jun resented his mother and began to openly disobey her. He even considered her weak.

Jun went on a secret journey to the Temple of Origin after accidentally eavesdropping on a conversation between the Emperors. While there he is chastised by the High Priests and questioned thoroughly. Jun leaves from this experience a broken man, then mysteriously disappearing from Henhue after resigning as general, even over the mighty Basch . (As you may recall from the end of Season 1, Jun was a child prodigy, which is how he was able to be Basch’s teacher, even though Basch is older.)

Yuffie and Jun are similar in wanting revenge against Syris . Yuffie gets over this desire in Season 1. Jun got over his violent streak when he was younger after getting a spiritual rude awakening in the Temple of Origin. Abandoning his old life and the war, he retreated to the mountains to meditate and live as a hermit.

Jun’s Hyperion, as depicted by the huge serpent Tattoo on his back, is Leviathan, the Monarch of the Sea. As we already know from Season 1, Basch’s Hyperion is Yojimbo, the Blood Merchant. Whereas Yojimbo is calm, only caring about money, Leviathan is out-of-control, bloodthirsty and wild. Jun can’t even control him for the better half of the season; Cross Form causes him pain, and Hyper Form…well, it’s a bad idea. Whenever he transforms, Leviathan completely takes over and goes on a rampage, destroying towns and attacking people indiscriminately. Jun’s development, along with bridging the nonexistent relationship with his little sister, is learning to control this serpent within him, calming him to the point that they can work synergistically as Hume and Hyperion should. Leviathan hates Jun, however…and pretty much everyone. Unlike Griever , who is just indifferent, Leviathan wants to destroy for the sake of destroying. He loves battle and he loves power, so he never took a side in the Hyperion war 20,000 years ago. He fought everybody. He is basically the exact opposite of Jun.

In FFC Jun uses a katana. Jun's Element is Water; thus, he was born under the sign of Celes. In Cross Form, which we barely see thanks to how berserk Leviathan is, Jun's skin tints to turquoise and covers with shiny scales. His eyes also morph to that of the dragon's own.

Jun is originally from the RPG Valkyrie Profile, and he is voiced by my cousin. In Season 2 he is promoted from NPC to main party member. Aside from his costume, his appearance is exactly the same.
