Funny, I mentioned this idea when I saw the picture of Belle, and now we have it. And I have to say, I love it!! Β

This would have been the perfect ending for the movie, with the door open for a sequel. Gaston is now a monster by the inside AND the outside.

In some ways a better ending to that character then his fate in the movie proper; as the Beast becomes the Prince again, the true monster gets stricken with a form that better reflects what he really is. Seems kind of fitting to me.Β

I don't know how "fair" it is. I mean, you can say Beast has advantage with his strength, but Gaston has several weapons. Besides, Gaston plays dirty, as every villain. Even fighting Beast as another beast, he would surely play dirty and use a knife.
