I enjoy his work very much as well! I thought it interesting the similarities Tan and I share in our artwork without being exposed to each other's work.
You are too kind.
Thank you!

It looks good. Thank you very much!

Such a striking colour of red! It not only stands out, but it goes so well with the other colours.
The texture is also fascinating, so the colours + texture make this a really great peice!! There's alot to look at!! Fantastic job!

THE--DEVIL [2009-05-29 00:53:02 +0000 UTC]

Reminds me of the rose that the Little Prince protects. It has that fragile, precious and coveted feel to it all while still being very simple.

Thank you! I must read the Little Prince! I have had several people make references to it about my work.

Most definitely. One of the greatest books ever written and a master of simplicity.

so beautiful in many ways, but yet it seems so lonely.when I first saw this beautiful piece of art, it immediately reminded me of this poem by Heather Schroer:

One lonely tree
Standing
In one lonely field

One lonely field
Sitting
In one lonely city

One lonely city
Laying
In one lonely state

One lonely state
Drowning
In one lonely nation

One lonely nation
With
One lonely person
Watching

so lovely, but oh so lonely...it is quite beautiful though

I agree with the critique, that the branches (which seem almost 3-D) are the centerpiece (and masterpiece) of this painting. Bravo for somehow archiving that effect with watercolor!

SethFitts In reply to AthenaTT [2009-05-14 04:13:14 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! The acrylic paint does that sometimes when the paper is pulled away. I have some more with similar effects that will be posted soon!
Thanks again!

I like this wet media technique of yours. It is almost like letting the art make itself as the pigment goes where the water flows. The blurry feel also makes it look like it is in another world. I also love the little dot of orange in the sky, an unearthly star shining in the daytime.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SethFitts In reply to RosesAndThorns [2009-05-06 12:21:18 +0000 UTC]

It is difficult to let go completely. I still have to put my human touch on it.
I like the orange too. At first I thought this would be an eye of something but nothing seemed to work.
Thank you!
