Description
This is a gift for the lovelyI started this for a contest that she was giving way back in Spring. Being Slow-poke Sha, I never finished it. But seeing as it was turning out so nicely, I chose to finish it and instead make it a house-warming gift for her new move to Aussie-land...
Guava, whenever you come on, just poke me a note because I've love to send you the original if you'd like to have it...
This was done using plain old graphite pencils of varying leads...HB, H, B and 3B mainly. Along with my good ol' smudge stick. The scan, which was done in 4 parts, just doesn't do traditional media justice...
There's a lot of more subtle shading that is lost.I was REALLY in the mood to color and I went looking for my tablet which I had brought to work and couldn't find it. I wanted to specifically work on one of my commissions...
Seeing as I couldn't find the darned thing (which I found when I went to bed...of course...-_-;; ), I picked up this pencil drawing and went to town. I was so into it I only mainly HEARD the Closing Ceremonies rather than saw them...Anyway, enjoy!

Parmigianino was a Renaissance painter known for unusually long necks and fingers that gave the people in his paintings an elegant, stylized look. You might like his work.

I like this drawing. The figure is a little distorted in places, but I think that makes the picture more interesting.

Oh, she most certainly is over exaggerated in some areas...more than I had originally planned...
I think it showed me how rusty I am with drawing without an undo button! *lol*

The details are simply stunning! Espcially on the feathers and headdress. I love the shading on her clothing, it's very realistic. I just love her posing, it really reminds me of a peacock!
