Some more pop-culture poetry. i do love it so
should really start actively trying to write some instead of waiting till one pops fully formed into my head midway through a work shift 
I was thinking about Harry's thoughts while under the sorting hat, and thinking that he wouldn't be the only one conflicted; where their personal choice and longings influenced where they were placed. So of course Neville came to mind, the unchosen chosen one
and for me this poem is all about a scared little boy sitting on that stool, a hat too big for him falling over his eyes, leaving him in a world of darkness where all he can think about is his parents and how unworthy he feels to even be at Hogwarts.

thankyou so much! is it weird that it still makes me get a bit emotional re-reading it now? There's just such pain and doubt in Neville, pain that it takes so long for us to fully appreciate, and even then we never see it that clearly.

He may have not been chosen to beat Voldemort, but he, indirectly, was chosen to lead Dumbledore's Army against his forces. So in a way, he was still chosen
