Yes yes, it's me. Gilderoy Lockhart
Order of Merlin Third Class, honorary member of the Dark Forces Defense League, and Five time winner of Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award... But I don't like to talk about that. I certainly didn't get rid of the Bandon Banshee by smiling at her!Sydney Supanova was graceful enough to offer to bring me down to see all you wonderful people, but sadly they were forced to cancel my signing booth; they could hardly have the line taking up half the convention hall now could they? So as a special treat to all the wonderful Witches and Wizards out there, I put on a nice little show for them to break up their fabulous cosplay contest!

I'm finding them really hard to find! I had heaps of lovely fans wanting photos of their favourite wizard, but they must be all hiding them under their pillow instead of wanting to share them with the muggle world!

That's too bad! I would have loved to see more! What made you choose to go as Gilderoy? I would love to because I love the character, the costumes, and Kenneth Branagh... wait, that one isn't important.

I had someone suggest I would make a good Gilderoy about a year ago, but I didn't really think about it until 4 months ago or so, at which point I became quite obsessed with the idea! The biggest motivation was either the spender of his dueling outfit or being one of the most joyful characters to prance around as, I still cant decide which I loved the most.
Personally I also did Gilderoy to boost my confidence with smiling. I never used to properly smile in photos (used to have not great teeth but so damn better now); it was a way of shattering my reluctance to give a big toothy grin. Kind of how cosplaying Aladdin helped me to finally become comfortable with my nose (I used to be incredibly self-conscious about it).

Wow! I'm surprised! Everyone I knew thought he was annoying. Great to hear that there's some Gilderoy love after all! I'm also really glad to hear that your cosplays have helped your confidence! That's excellent!
Always glad to know that you're a Kenneth Branagh fan as well! He is a great actor as well as director. Hamlet really was a brilliant film! I also really like his version of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. A lot of people don't seem care for that one or have even seen it, but I like it a lot! Gilderoy is probably my favorite one of his characters though. He cracks me up!
