Coby was determined to intertwine his friends in love. He believed love would change them for the better.

“She’s not engaged, there’s no ring! Besides any man who’s engaged to her would have to be a marine, she’d be too busy to be engaged to a civilian man” Garp explained as Helmeppo felt hope grow in his chest. He still had a chance with her after all.
