Beautiful color and detail. It is a great piece.
Sorry to hear about your computer. Sorry too to hear about your fall. I shattered my tail bone once falling from a horse. That was many years ago and it still bothers me. I hope that you feel better.

I know the feeling. When that accident happened, I was riding with my father. There were some vultures up in a tree. I got a strange feeling, like we should not continue but he said that I was being a chicken. We did not see the 3 vultures that were in the tall grass infront of us. They flew up, his lines broke and his horse took off fast for home. I was thrown onto the neck of mine, had no control and threw myself off of mine before he hit the road...I bounced on a few rocks in the grass.
I shrugged off the pain but I rarely can sit for long periods of time without some good accupuncture.

Ah! I'm so sorry! I've got a friend who broke his tailbone as well...he came down on the back of the saddle when his horse bucked. Is riding hard for you now? It seems like it must be!

It is ok. I live in NYC so I do not ride so much anymore. I do miss it very much. Bareback is ok, but for short periods of time. Long car rides are hard and long movies too. I just have to shift my weight from time to time from one side to the other or if I can, sitway back on the upper pelvis instead of sitting normal on the tailbone.

What does 'equus' mean? My mate uses this phrase as a nickname and I like it...

It is the Latin name for the horse genus. The domesticated horse's scientific name is Equus caballus.

Very neat, there's a lot of lines and curves that draw the eye in.

Thank you! I've always found these random designs to be relaxing to draw. It's almost like working a puzzle, trying to fit the lines and curves together.

Very interesting design, they look somewhat like the horses I saw engraved on some ancient celtic coins.

Just to avoid misinterpretations... I'm saying their design reminds me of *generic* celtic horse design, because they used to stylize horses in a polished and dynamic way, as you did here.
