Once in a while I actually draw. I started this baby last March but only finished now due to prolonged absence from home. I swear, the next one WILL be a smaller size, not bloody A2 again. Those details almost killed me, damn it.

I think this is still my favourite scene from An Unexpected Journey - the first time I saw it I cried because it touched me so deeply. And nobody can tell me that Richard's voice isn't actually a gift from heaven. I actually threw three different screen shots together for this one plus an almost uncountable number of references for all the bloody detail (it took me ages to find a good shot of Balin's belt, for example - just to find out that it doesn't always look the same. Duh.)

I apologize for the bad picture quality once again. If somebody has any tips on how to take picture of something this large without screwing it up, please share them with me! A lot of detail and finer nuances in shading obviously get lost here.
