Description Rats aren't scary! They don't bite! Not unless you give them a good reason to do so. Unlike many smaller rodents, a well-socialized, well cared for rat will NEVER bite. They are gentle and surprisingly careful, knowing that their human's fingers should be treated with care! Liam ever-so-slowly takes a tiny bit of broccoli flower from my fingers.

Uh...I'm not sure! LOL. Just named him "Liam" cause I got him when we was TINY (like... mouse sized) and I kept calling him "little one" which was too long, and that warped into "Liam" somehow.

LOL. What's the re-fur guard?

You are so right! The youngsters seem to think human fingers are the tastiest things in the world! ^_^ But soooooo cute!

I just squeak, and they quickly learn to be gentle.

Hehe..
Yeah they probably do..
I'm wondering if the rats kept in glass cages bites less trough the bars than those kept in regular cages..
All mine was from glass type of cages and they NEVER bite trough the bars..

It makes no difference. Biting or not biting has nothing to do with their housing, and more with handling and socializing.

I have had several rats that lived their entire lives in tanks. Some were never handled or mistreated and thus were much quicker to bite.

As a side note, rats really shouldn't be kept in glass enclosures. Not enough ventilation, quickly builds fumes, gathers humidity and can easily overheat.

^_^ Liam gets that a lot. Did I ever mention that he's a nearly perfect fawn self? And that I literally fished him out of some kid's snake tank?
