Description This is a first-try at something vikingy. Though this is nothing more than a testandtrial-piece and didn't even come out symetrical in shape I'm pretty pleased with the result. Will definatelly try more of this stuff sometime

Hmm.. have you create these entrelacs ? Or it's based on true viking entrelacs ? (cause i've never see these before ) if it's not, I advise you to search some real modele based on Borre, Jelling or Mammen's style

nope, thats just some random pattern I engraved for practice

And thanks alot for the advice, but I mainly prefer my own design before allready existing patterns

HΓ€rregud.

That's what I call great. Simple enough not to be a mess, and has a sturdy look. Still manages to look ornate enough to please the eye.

I like that it's not symmetrical. It is handmade after all. Old designs by Vikings, Celts, etc. aren't symmetrical either.

Really awesomely done. ^^ I like it, and you don't really think about the shape until you mentioned it in the text.

Looking good. But have you left the 2 eyelets on the left side missing on purpose? I really like the petrolic colour.

Heh, I actually had to use some translator-program to be able to use a proper term. I was too embarrased to talk of metalmade-ringythings-the-you-know-what-i-mean-ones. Do you have good leathercrafting rivets for sale in Sweden? I've looked for 'em in SljΓΆd Detaljer, but with poor success. There are hardly any decorative rivets and other accessories here in Finland. The best ones I've managed to get are from Italy, ABC Morini's make.

I know, most my tools are handcrafted as most purchasable dont give the result Im looking for SlΓΆjddetaljer has some stuff, but I have not had all pleasant dealings with them as they are really bad at responding to enquieries and q's, and don't give any statusupdates if anything about the order is out of the ordinary=/ Though totally ok products once they arrive Though I haven't really had any real use for them as they (as said) dont bring my kind of results expected

Yea, such is SD. I'd like to see what kinda tools you use. I've made so far only one punch for embossing, all else is commercial.

Probably As this is a testpiece only I didn't get around to either finish the coloring or smoothen edges or anything Looking for better brown colors as this one works for some things, but not for detailing=/
