Description there's no shame
in the way fingertips go away
in the numb underneath
the weight of the worried head
of a sleeping
significant
other

oh we kill it like the plague

under covers
we're undercover
playing cops and robbers
and the last relieved sigh
of a long day
sneaks down to our ankles
and ties us to the bed.

a worried head, blurry
visions of a far away land
where we are young forever
and where we may not win but
the wicked always lose;
a sleepy siamese dream,
a romance that cuts so deep

how can we feel this way
when we've lost all feeling?

how can rafters up in the ceiling
sway

like the kites we run on the bay
side

glide beside me no strings attached to
a life we don't need no more no need
no

it's a kiss and that's it

sea side i breathe life
into you. reanimating lost things
is my hobby, but you don't play fair
with a waltz on the rocks,
sea side with the salty spray
tangling in our hair
more than seagulls gasping
for air

caught up in the captain's sails
you climb up to the crow's nest
seeking out the last lost
world, the fifth corner,
another wonder
a telescope, stethoscope
riding cold on my skin
you are the medicine

an infinity complex, an inverted
highway stretch. a roadtrip so
fast i cannot catch my breath

i cannot lock this door
padlock the sea side folded over to a
hapless dusk
formless husk
of an imagination
ballooning to the frayed edge
of a line crossed
in ecstatic event series
cooperative independence
nothing means anything but your name,

but the melody

tacked on the signpost at the end
of our jetty

you were almost too late,
but oh how i still dearly love a cage

a lost man hopelessly lost at the
sea side, driven mad and wind-swept,
starving for your skin,
i am blind but i see in the witch's eye
us hand in hand, but i am my own man
down to my last straw,
and i gave my all,
i gave it all i gave it all

in you i am born again
lips pressed and it is a whiskered kiss,
an anxious peck, the last smile before
the last wreck. this is not how i go
in you i am born again

the original want
gravitational urges
pull up these waves and tuck in
the entire mistake
nudist beach
nudist beach
nudist beach

spending hours tasting salt on skin
lapping our tongues over sandy grit
i clean you
you clean me
we clean we

the truest sleep

kneel down before the
almighty rolling waves
of cellulite and flabby ankles
a freckled nose and dimpled cheek
kneel down and kneel down
worship me in this
never-ending dream,
a flightless, fanciful sleep
where you nestle warm in
every fold of my body and
i will consume you
entirely
as the ocean would a
lonely sailor.

the sweet rocking of the ship
will lull you into deep reprieve
an early start and a late peak:
this is an apology. sunburnt and
peeling off flakes of precious skin
sea side
we shed the billowing capes of flesh and
jump naked, bared muscles and bones
into the deep blue
i am truly free in you

a mermaid sighting
atlantis and the great squid
all come down for summer
vacation. a night of pleasantries,
of revelry, a fantastic retelling
of the night we met
if a bit dramatized.

it was a sea storm
a warm wind
forty fathoms and three notches
due east
it was a tangle of sea weed
a shallow end
running onto land in a hurry
to get to the bathroom,
it was wet and
you looked like
posiedon, or a modern prometheus
freshly dug up from the
sea side grave. sea side,
i breathe life into you

oh, but you were fantastic

a map of your coastline the only memento
folded and pried from
a green glass bottle
we kissed at the delta and that's what I see
is left of your topography
for where the ink fades with every ancient crease
so must we so must we
if only while waking
up

I have to admit.
I'm really really impressed.
By which I mean, tempted to steal at least half of this and call it my own.
Very very well done lads.
