Ah, glad someone added this to the GUNNM club. I still love this set, and I still regret not seeing you at Otakon in 2012 (or this year for that matter >.<; ).

I THOUGHT I had submitted them to that group, I guess not!
Thank you!
Aww, Gally is still in "repair", so I didn't bring her with me this year anyway. I'm not sure if I would recosplay her at Otakon. I'll see.
Thanks for your support though! You're probably the only one at Otakon who would know her anyway XD

For what it counts, Gally would probably be the single coolest cosplay that I've seen at a con. While I've seen a handful of Gally cosplays online, I've never seen one in person. Of course I may be a lone in that opinion XD
Gosh, I really hope that wouldn't be the case. I know GUNNM is old now and never had much of an anime adaptation, but I'd hope there are enough people at the con who would still recognize her. James Cameron was even thinking of making a movie adaptation, someone must have heard of that at least.
But yeah, people at Otakon are all into new series, anything from 5 years ago is already forgotten >.<

I've seen a few online too, but never in a con.
Well, it's certain that I didn't spend a whole day in that outfit, so not that many people actually saw it (I had to change for another cosplay that day, that's why). I think one or two people actually recognized it, but that's it.
I wish Otakon was longer so I could wear more cosplay outfits! XD
Yeah exactly.

Heh, we need a week of Otakon. But that would probably leave me so broke I'd have to walk home afterwards.
I'm glad there are still some old-school fans around. Most of the people I hang with would or should know her, but as mentioned I haven't managed to bump into you at Otakon yet, and I deeply regret missing this last year. Then again, I always spend half of the con buried in the artist alley so I probably miss more than half of the cosplay.
I would be more enthusiastic about jumping into cosplay myself if I thought some of the series I like would actually be recognized. Or maybe that's a good thing for me, since I'm a bit camera shy anyways XD

Haha indeed XD
Yeah, I also don't stay at the same place for long, and I usually end up OUTSIDE the con with my friends, because we have to go to a certain for a photoshoot, or go back to the hotel to get stuff, etc.
Yeah I know, that's also a big problem with me because I love series that no one would know in the States, like Dai no Daibuken.
haha you would be surprised. When you cosplay, you feel different so I don't think you would be bothered by it that much

My apologies for the extraordinarily late reply, I got buried for a few months ><;
I was talking to a lovely young couple last weekend after the Katsucon Idol contest. The young lady who had performed (A gorgeous rendition of "Hiru no Tsuki" the Outlaw Star ending theme) was in an Arcueid (Tsukihime) cosplay. After we had been talking for a while (joking about how nervous and awkward we were, we both had never done Karaoke before, much less on stage lol), I mentioned to her that she had a nice Tsukihime cosplay. Now, bare in mind I've never seen, read, or played Tsukihime before, but I still instantly recognized it because the costume was spot on. The couple were absolutely floored that I recognized it. They told me they've been to 3 or 4 cons now in that costume and not ONE person had recognized it, and they proceeded to tell me all of the things people had thought it was before (one person even thought she was just cosplaying an old person, which was just terrible... she's a pretty, young cosplayer certainly no older than myself).
Anyhow, I was just appalled. Even though I've never gotten into Tsukihime, I'm well aware of the series it's a pretty big deal in Japan on par with Fate/Stay Night and the like. Ironically, I can't recognize 3/4ths of the costumes I see there, lol, but I could still pick her out of a crowd.
Also, on a semi-related note... carousing through the artist alley at Katsucon I found a couple of neat prints including Zone of the Enders, Baccano!, and Enishi from the manga portion of Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X. I was as pleased to find them as the artists were that someone actually recognized them, lol. I also sang "Blurry Eyes" (L'arc~en~ciel) an old DN^2 intro song and was pleased the cameraman recognized it I almost whipped out a Great Teacher Onizuka song for the karaoke contest, but ended up going with a much more recognizable Naruto Shippuuden song instead ("Diver" by NICO touches the wall, which to be fair is a good song/band).
Man I love going to cons and am mesmerized by all the cosplays, but the people there kind of make me feel twice my age >.<
