The Confederacy of Independent System had send an expedition into the Firefist dwarf galaxy as the locals called it, the second nearest to their own Galaxy, which was known as Companion Besh within the Galactic Republic, Empire and Confederacy alike that was located around 150,000 light-years from their main Galaxy and largely unexplored. The Nagai (or N’Gai) a near-human species from the planet Nagi, were 46 million, 92% of them Nagai lived in a local dictatorship ruling teir crystal cities. Known for exporting technology, the Separatists were interested in some of their technology, like sonic blaster weaponry and Elecrromesh armor and cloaking technology the Nagai had. Because of that Nagai Commander Gian Agni was send with an expedition into the Firefist dwarf galaxy financed by the InterGalactic Banking Clan, as well as the Cooperate Alliance and Trade Federation commanded from his flagship, the DH-Omni Class Support Vessel. Having learned about the Nagai and Tof trough the Nagai-Tof War, as both species had invaded the main Galaxy during their conflict as the Nagai attacked first and the Tof soon followed them. Started by small infiltration units of the Nagai, before the arrival of the Nagai Main Fleet. The Nagai then started slave trading and allied with the local Separatists of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, before their mortal enemies, the Tof arrived and were eager to ally with the Galactic Republic instead. Guided by Tof Captain Bareton however, the Separatists headed to the dwarf satellite galaxy Tof home-world of Tof, were their patriarchs ruled over the Tof Kingdom on a water-covered planet with island chains and artificial ports from which they ruled their interstellar Tof Kingdom. While the InterGalctic Banking Clan controlled the local Bank of Tof in the Tof capital Tof Central, as well as the Bank of Nagi in the Nagi planet capital Kotokai, they unlike the Cooperate Alliance and Trade Federation, whose worlds systems and sectors were effected, had no interest in stopping the Nagai-Tof War, as they lend money to both groups to continue their war and profit from them when their debt with the IGBC continued to increase.

The Separatists therefore mainly allied with the Nagai, as well as allied species of theirs like allies, like the Faruun, a species of giant and brutal humanoids conquered mostly by the Tof with some refugees escaping and allying with the Nagai, as well as the Maccabree, a sentient non-humanoid, aggressive species of tentacled cephalopods who were dependent on their planet's unique atmosphere to live, that often fought with one another, until the Tof as an outside enemy invaded their home-world to captured and experiment. When the Tof left again, most Maccabree retreated to the caves their ancestors lived in and later allied themselves with the Nagai and Faruun, as well as the Confederacy of Independent Systems, with the technologically advanced Faruun joining the Techno Union and creating cybernetic, humanoid battlesuits for the Maccabree, thickly armored torso of the suits include a false "head" that presented a ready and meaningless target for enemy blaster fire and the Maccabrees could leave a battle by launching their suits into the air, leaving behind their detachable limbs. With the Besh/ Firefist Confederate Expedition lead by Gian Agni the Separatists tried to unite and ally as much of the local species against the Tof then possible, while also keeping their own option to negotiate with the Tof as well to include as much of the local species into their Separatist Alliance as possible in hopes of maximizing their possible tax payers, customer base and trade into the Besh/ Firefist dwarf galaxy. Started during the Clone Wars and partaken in their last year the Expedition soon made growing contacts with the species of the Besh/ Firefist dwarf galaxy and the Banking Clan, Trade Federation and Cooperate Alliance, as well as soon after the majority of other major Confederate Conglomerates and species interacting diplomatically and trading with the locals of the Besh/ Firefist dwarf galaxy. Their overall goal was to cartographic local hyperlanes and explore much more of the Besh/ Firefist dwarf galaxy in a shorter amount of time then the galactic Republic or later the Galactic Empire could and would, to bring the local species to side with their Confederacy of Independent Systems and therefore gain control over the whole neighboring Besh/ Firefist dwarf galaxy.
