Description Some of you may remember these photos I posted some time ago:

They show the interior of one of the great halls of the Ausbesserungswerk Opladen, which used to be one of the most important locomotive workshops in Germany, closed down in 2003. The demolition works are in full swing, with one of the two main buildings gone completely. I'm not sure what they plan to do with this building though. The clean edge suggests that the remainder will still be used for some purpose in the future, but I wouldn't be surprised if that gets torn down as well. It's interesting to note that rails you see here, now without a roof above them, were once populated by the first generation ICE power heads, which were delivered here by the manufacturer to be put in service. It was here that their electrical systems were first powered up, that they moved under their own power for the first time. This was the place where Germany's new high speed train came to life, and now, it's just a pile of rubble. Took these pics today on a spontaneous little tour, which didn't yield too many train pics, but many train-related ones.

Devastation is also a good keyword to describe my current mood, as the often mentioned family troubles are now headed for full meltdown. If I stay here, I'll go mad, if I move out, others would go mad and hang themselves, which puts me in the worst situation there is. I always wonder what its like in normal families where people don't lie as soon as they start to speak, where trust isn't just a mere word to throw around.
