Very good, very unique armor. It has a biomechanical look, very sleek.
The weapons look very good, the one on the far right looks like a sniper.

Nothing needs to be changed, but next time maybe you can do a darker picture. Maybe a burnt war zone with these type of people leading the army. You have the ability to do something that amazing.

That is all, you are going on my watch list for sure. Also your armor looks like the design for my book. The evil rebels wear black armor like this, and look scary like this.

I think this is pretty cool, bro. :U

I can see what whatsisface means by you only used one brush for the clouds. Now that it's pointed out, it does seem a little weird.

But you know what? You're doing pretty fine everywhere else. If the suits aren't supershiny, they're not going to have cloud reflections. And not every female character has DD breasts that need custom armour to support and show them off. I like what you did with her because a lot of women actually are quite small, and her armour looks like it still has room for normal sizes. Because of her, the other two don't look like generic army men; they could very well be girls also, and I love to see equality in things like this. Or in general.

So keep on trucking! Though the fuzzy digitalness is a little offputting, there is a huge amount of detail here.

Oh, yeah, the movement thing. I don't know why s/he wanted the dude on the right's arms to be flailing. The dude seems to be holding a lot of heavy gear. That does not allow one to move their arms very much.

Yep, if I was to go back and work more on this one, it would be to vary up the cloud texture and clean up the rendering overall.
Feel free to be harsher with those stars brah

Awesome suits and nice colours. The Shading of the armors is really nice and the composition is pretty good.

The only negatives are:

- i can see, that you only used one brush for the background and there are missing some more reflections of the bright clouds on the suits

- theres missing some shading in her face and her eyes are a little bit too big

- her suit on their belly is too male looking and her breasts kinda disappear in the mass of armor

- the suited guy on the right side stands like a tree. more motion with his arms would look better.

The only point that seems valid to me is the last - the others are just opinions on his expression. She may be flat-chested?

All very good points man. Some I probably could have caught, some new to me.

Though one I'm wondering about is the crit on her armors design. I would consider making armor feminine more of a style choice (that I go against), or is there something more practical to it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aerozopher In reply to Shimmering-Sword [2009-12-02 22:15:26 +0000 UTC]

simply the shape.. it doesnt look feminine, cause it's way too straigt

Shimmering-Sword In reply to Aerozopher [2009-12-03 05:41:33 +0000 UTC]

Can you think of a design that looks feme on a girl and masculine on a guy? I don't make stereotypical suits that leave a girls attractive areas accentuated. They are largely unisex designs, and mechanics in general don't appear feminine by default.
I'm always open to tips, but my point here is that the girls don't have armor specially made to look girly

Aerozopher In reply to Shimmering-Sword [2009-12-03 12:41:33 +0000 UTC]

i disagree, cause you cant suit a girl like a boy. think about the anatomy and especially the breasts are an important point

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Draconis-Wyrm In reply to Aerozopher [2010-06-09 04:42:03 +0000 UTC]

The breasts are not an important point. If she wears a training bra, she's fine in a bulletproof vest.

A flat one, I may add. They do not make girly vests for women who are police officers.

I agree there must be proportional adjustments for the overall body (as everyone is diff). But breasts can be 'bound' a bit, you really don't want them loose in there

DarkWriter1 [2016-09-03 13:19:29 +0000 UTC]

Btw Aerozopher the reason the suits wouldn't shine would be due to them being matted so flashlights wouldn't shine off giving away their position. I also very much agree with -Dracosins-Wyrm-. You made it look like a real futuristic military.

I've seen this style of sci-fi soldier armor on many works of art here on deviant art. Could you please tell me is this from some franchise or are they similar by accident?

Shimmering-Sword In reply to Kova031 [2013-07-01 00:40:39 +0000 UTC]

There are only so many styles of armor out there, you will always find similar designs that have nothing to do with each other. I have my own story developing, but no other artist is working on it.
