Shadow thy Hedge of Hog.Just practising really, taken on board what was said on previous work and really seeing about getting that egg cracked open with new approaches and changes.
Still altering my style of drawing sonic characters and working with colour a lot more. Have I achieved new heights? Only you noble people can say!
Quite happy with the turn out, dedicated to you supportive bunch of mates (you know how you are).
By the way, if it's not too much to ask? How does the colour appear to you? Does it come off rather dark or very bright. You see I have this unusal feeling that the colour appears differently to what i see and makes me fearful that it could be having a huge effect on the appearance.

The colors are just awesome. The background fits very nicely too, I really like how you made this "smoke-like" effect down there ^^

Well, I'm probably the last person who should say anything about the color, seeing as I have one of those older flat-screen monitors that you have to look at just so in order to see anything at all...but...it looks nice and rich to me.
His pose just oozes attitude, and the fur on his chest actually looks like it might be -touchable-, heh. That smokey look kind of makes me think he's just destroyed something and is standing in the smoldering wreckage.

Ur coloring is brilliant 
The color kinda seems kinda dark,but with the brighter red, it kinda also give a good aura to him. So it's kinda a mix of good and dark xD

Looks awesome, really digging the glow and the clouds.
As for too dark or too light - for me it appears too light...but on my older monitor it would appear much too dark...so chances are you hit the right spot.
Newtechniques are fun c: ...I need to practice them more m'self.

This is excellent work, Sam. I especially like the effects of the red mist at the bottom of the page. You have it looking like Shadow is rising up from the mist. The techniques you used on this just blow me away. The detailing, especially on the white chest fur is outstanding. This has to be one of the best pieces I have seen you post here. Interesting you chose to give him a smile. I like that. It is a nice touch to his character. His styling in appearance reminds me of SA2 (is that what you were going for? because if yes you achieved it very well dude). You truly left me "speechless" with the lighting and shading effects. The overall piece is outstanding. The depth of detailing is fantastic. Kudos man! Great work! Keep it up.

Well that's very nice of you to say Jen. It's nice to know that the effects and various assortments of detail have become stronger and that it was actaully possible for this piece to leave your jaw hanging off its hinges. Style is a mixture of old and new. SA is an influence since i'm rather fond of the style, but just trying to make it hold some of the charm of the older style (a la Sonic Unleashed approach).

The color is very vibrant. Not too light not too dark.

Smoke-effect is great, and the rest of the background. Also, detail on the chest-fur.
But his right leg is too thick when compared to his left. And the wristbands needs a bit more metallic-look, in my opinion. But I like the style and rest of the colouring on this. Atmosphere is good too.
