Description
A commission I did for the husband of one of my high school English teachers
Its sooort of an interpretation of one of the lines from my favorite scene in this book that she let me borrow when I was in 9th grade (its still one of my all time favorites). If you can guess which book its from you are an awesome person!Haha, so this is supposed to be a gift from the commissioner to his wife, but then ~SailorPretty walked in while I was working and I asked him what he thought and he was like "it scares me." lol. Sadly I'm not that great at making holiday gifts, oops.
The bird is a Western Tanager btw, I had mistakenly thought the scene took place on the west coast of the Americas but its actually supposed to be on the east side, so boo for me XC Fun bird, though.

I say it to explain my love and appreciation of Kurt Vonnegut, not to brag that I have a great memory. But I must have read that book almost a year ago now.
Fantastic painting, really.

My favorite is Cat's cradle ^____^ I read it all the time. I was trying to remeber the name of one of his short stories a while ago. It was driving me completly insane >3< I could only remeber the plot (kinda, I read it a long time ago) so I got all of my Vonnegut books and looked through them. I found it though, "A Report on the Barnhouse Effect"

Oh, well this is supposed to be an interpretation of Cat's Cradle! The part where everything freezes in an instant and all the tornadoes come down... I just added the bird in there because it related to the commissioner

he has two (that I know of at least) Welcome to the Monkey House and The Bagombo Snuff Box. Report on the "Barnhouse Effect" is in Welcome to the Monkey House along with "Harrison Bergeron" which I absolutly love. The other one has a really good story called "Thanosphere". You should read them if you get the chance ^____^ I'm off to re-read Cat's Cradle. I can't believe I couldn't remember that even though I've read it so many times ;_____;

lololol at first I was like, "haha why do they have random white hairs?" but then I read the comments and scrolled back up to take another look at it and NOW it looks like frost. um, not that I'm very familiar with frost anyway so that is possibly why I could not recognse it *australia*
the clouds are sososo cool though! the swirls and the colours and the unintentional batman symbol all look very cool.
Also the book sounds brilliant, I am going to hunt it down and read it.
