Thanks a lot for your tutorial! I have to make a latex prothesist so it will help me a lot.
But I have one question, If I understand well your tutorial (It took me a certain time xD), your let the bottom of your hand on the clay, you building a wall and put plaster on the top for cover it (I'm all right?). You didn't get any burns? few years ago our art teacher show us pictures of burns caused by plaster (like you mention It), and It's freak me out xD My father give me a "white plaster", for "all type of works". He thinks It's not suitable for that, what do you think? A modeling plaster will be better? (like your. If It's possible, can I have the name of the band?)

To tell you the truth, the plaster barely warmed up... the thing with plaster is that the bigger the quantity, the more it warms up (just like any resin or two part compound). The quantity I put on my hand was small. And it hardened, I took my hand out and only after that it became warm... warm as in... oh, my hands are cold and want to warm myself up, that kind of warm... I only used one type of plaster, the modeling one, so I can't tell you if there is a difference between the construction one and the modeling one (although I heard the construction one hardens faster, that's all). You could actually try to mix the aproximate amount you will put on your hand and pour it in a box, to see how much it warms up.

glad to hear the news! I never used plaster bands, I only heard of them and I got to see some. I heard they are great!

oh, if alginate is close to the price to the plaster, then you should clearly use alginate! it's easier to work with and you get better results! In my case, alginate is really expensive in Romania... I think it's something like 30 euros per kg...

at first I was wondering how I would be able to use this tutorial, then I remembered the agony of trying to make gloves on my own. This is going to help me so much in the very near future, thanks so much for making this!

If you want to use this to try your gloves on, don't spread the fingers that much...

yes, 1/4 in is a quarter of one inch which is about 0.6 cm or three-fifths of a cm

I'm not sure what you meant by space between fingers... I would make a pattern like this: [link] the front, the back, no space between the fingers, but I would have three pieces of fabric, around 1 cm wide, to sew between the two parts and it makes the perfect space to fit the fingers in. The same with the sides of the hand. The thumb is different from the rest. You can do something else. Make the replica, wrap it in masking tape (make sure you make it wider around the hand joint) and draw the cuts on it. Then cut it and ta daaaa, you have your pattern, perfectly fit for your hands!
