been busy with this whole Scatterhead thing so i needed to knock out something quick to have some down time.was only quick... max 2 hours
need to work on water skills fer sure...

yeah water is something that i certainly havent tried to tackle before... i think i would learn heaps from someone sitting me down and showing me what the water/liquid would do in terms of specific situations but where the hell would i find that?
hope things are going ok with decisions etc and also with the whole getting your stuff back etc.

Great pic, mate! I think the water is almost spot on in regards to the style of the overall piece. Maybe just a little more of a hint of hard edges to give the impression of the slight peaks that small waves/ripples have as it could be perceived as either water or glowing fog at the moment (which works either way to be honest).

Even just reference pools of water, ripples, waves etc and look at photos and also how other artists have represented them would be a good start.
Get a photo of a rippling pool (like a round pool with a disturbance in the middle creating an outwards rippling effect ala your robot pic), try and get it close to the same sort of viewing angle as your piece, grey scale it and see where the highlights and shadows are. Also, even Photoshop some effects to try and get it looking similar to your style and then use that as a reference. That might help.
Decisions have been (basically) made. There's a job as a photographer/digital manipulator for a small studio that I'm looking at that I'm thinking of applying for. From the position description I fit the criteria...
