Sorry about the lack of dA update with artwork and whatnot. -_- Been busy with this piece of fanart to celebrate not only GARO Makai Senki completing its second series (and sprouting out fangirl pairing nonsense; I'll come back to that), but also a new movie's coming out! : D But that means waiting ages for the DVD to come out of Japan someone releasing the subtitled version. D :

Erm, anyway...yeah, BEWARE OF SPOILERS, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, because I'm really going to spill all of it out if you haven't watched the entire 2nd series. Oh, yes. Before I forget, if you haven't figure which fanart is referring to, I'm linking it here . Yeah, a couple of weeks ago, 11+ played Hironobu Sakiguchi-san's next masterpiece, The Last Story and we talked like giggling fangirls on which character suits best even if their personalities don't exactly match each other. Two weeks of planning, sketching and digitally painting/drawing later, here where it all ends up X D Erm, yeah - a bit of explanation to do, using one of the TLS illustrations as a guide. From clockwise left:

Kouga = Zael/Elza - Well, they're the main male character, isn't he? OK, so Kouga's less of a pervert than Zael and he doesn't have the power of the Outsider, but who cares about that?

Kaoru = Calista/Kanan - XD Well, every main male character needs to have a love interest, after all. Plus, whenever I listened to one of TLS tracks, I always have this mental fangirl image of Kouga and Kaoru's back looking at the starry skies above or something. X3

Leo = Yurick/Yuris - OK, so Leo was a Makai Knight in secret, but that doesn't stop me on positioning this adorkable person in the white-haired pretty pyromanic's place. Have to say, I nearly forgot Eruba (Leo's magical talking ring) while drawing him and the sword. And no, sadly, Leo doesn't cast any fire spell with a scary smile and insane laughter.

Jabi = Syrenne/Seiren - : D 'Nuff said. I mean, they're both sassy women who can kick arse on any Horror/Reptid and for added bonus, can use dual wielding weapons. Oh, alright: I know Jabi can't use swords, so the best replacement I can come up with is her flags and voila! Man, I'm a genius, aren't I? No, you're not

Tsubasa = Lowell/Jackal - OK, so Tsubasa doesn't have the fans' favourite Scottish womaniser's charming ways, but anyone playing and/or watching the game should realise that both Lowell and Syrenne make a nice couple, even if she spends more time kicking his butt. And to please the Tsubasa/Jabi fans, I purposefully put them two in their positions. Because I'm like that. XD

Rekka = Mirania/Manamia - OK, the same goes for the hot-headed lass, since she's less ditzy and loony than Mirania, but someone suggested that I have to draw Rekka...so, here you go. Surprisingly, both she and Kaoru are easy to draw if I say so myself.

Rei = Dagran/Quark (silly name, isn't it?) - Finally, Rei himself. Except that he's not the 'leader' of the group of mercenaries or something. His emblem on his back is a pain in the arse more than Leo's redesign (that was when I realise his jacket is radically different from my original) and Jabi's (took me ages to correct her top half of her dress-kimono-outfit). Managed to do it in the end thanks to some resources from Twitter and elsewhere. X3

And before you ask: "Hey, why are the Makai Knights holding their powered-up version of their weapons, instead of their default ones?" And here's my response...

I like the weapons design and they look cool to see the characters holding them in a badass way, instead of their suit actors (or some CGI model from ROUDO, Leo's Makai Knight Armour). That, or I was too lazy to find Leo's default weapon in clearer detail as I was having trouble finding some good pictures.

I'll probably post their separate portraits later on via Pixiv, as well as the monochrome version, exclusively on my Twitter account. So, for now: enjoy this piece of work and you can download them as a desktop/PS3 wallpaper or something. AND REMEMBER TO CREDIT ME WITH THE LINK ADDRESS (dA, of course)!
