Description A commission for the amazingly patient Carolyn, who has stuck with me while I have trudged along and finished this- a portrait of her Everquest/RP characters in a Victorian family portrait.

This is so amazing. Of late I've been trying to put together a steampunk world. I'd like to try something similar to this, but the woman in my picture would be a cyclops. I'm so far behind you artistically that it's not even funny; your gallery is amazing.

Holy Crap! Victorian Elves! Wow you just gave me an awesome idea: "Lord of the Rings with a Steampunk setting!"...

Errr, I forgot you were still on my watchlist, it's been so long since you bothered to post anything... but I'm glad you did!

Your friend plays Everquest 1 does she?

1. Nooooo do not taint LotR with Steampunk! It is fine as is. Also- Victorian does not equal Steampunk. D:

2. It's not that I "bother" to post something, it's that I work now and all of my art is under wraps.

3. Not friend, just commissioner.

People always confuse Steampunk with Victorian. But they're very similar in some aspects.

2. LIE.

3. I have nothing to say here.

Arrr... I meant to say: a fantasy setting based on LoTR (we've seen millions of those, now) but with the humans going through an industrial revolution and how it affects all the other races like the elves, orcs, dwarves, yadda yadda.

I think I got the original idea from the Jak videogames, I mean they do look like elves [link] , look at his ears!.

Oh and Steampunk =\= Victorian either, you can have Steampunk based on the roman empire... god, what a horrible mental image.

Hope to be seeing more from you, in any time possible.

I love the charm, the coloring, the whole bit. I just wish that the man's sleeve line didn't run through his daughter's hair.

I KNOW IT WAS UNINTENTIONAL. I changed the face to make it less you-esque, but there's nothing to be done about that waistcoat.

Victorian portraits are so much fun as a genre. Any character looks cooler in a Victorian portrait!

In other news, I always love your color choices. I particularly love it when someone works with blues and oranges, because in the right shades those colors can compliment so well!
